Just think that when the process is finally over, you'll look back and it won't have seemed that long afterall. Spend the time preparing for each step so that you halfway to the post office by the time they're asking for it!

Ready for my grand ol' timeline? Alrighty then!

10-05-10 - Married in California
06-13-11 - I-130 approved
10-13-11 - CASE COMPLETE!
12-02-11 - Interview - 221g due to a washed passport
12-17-11 - POE - YYC (preclearance in Canada)

2011 to 2013 - Life happened

06-26-13 - Divorce finalized

10-07-13 - I-751 divorce filer paperwork journey begins

07-03-14 - ROC interview - approval pending delayed background checks

07-25-14 - APPROVED! 10 year GC is finally in production!

08-01-14 - 10 year GC in hand. The journey has finally ended. :)

2014 to 2020 - Living paperwork-free and focused on me!

11-09-20 - N-400 filed online - welcome back VJ fam!

6-22-21 - Interview in Nashville, approved! And then...

6-22-21 - Pledge of Allegiance taken. Holy shirtballs I'm a US Citizen.

I've spent so many years in the loving arms of the USCIS, but now it's time to fledge. So long, my friends, may all your journeys also end on the doorstep of whatever you're searching for.

Is a really good advice. That's what we had in mind from the beginning, we already have some papers for NVC and filling out others.

But you understand me when we have those days when you want to be with your couple above all!! MY WIFE! crying.gif... but your feel lost!.... in our case, we can see every 6 months wacko.gif

Do you have Skype? I know it doesn't replace the cuddles and... other things... but we use it all the time to stay in touch and it really does beat using emails and letters (we did try this, but snail mail is agonising!)

what's really interesting is that LPR's filing for children over 21 is still only 5 months but LPR's filing for under 21's or spouses is backed up a year....seems like VSC has their priorities a little off. Best of luck. I filed Nov 2010 and my fiancee just got approved last Tuesday, so I know how long it takes and how frustrating it is. Hang in there you'll make it!

Best of luck!

Just be patient! VSC actually is not that bad from what i have seen. We were at CSC and had a HUGE delay once we were approved. It took them forever to send our case to NVC... Whereas VSC has been shipping them on much faster.

In this process I think everyone will be slowed down at one point or another (be it at the service center or in shipping or in waiting for a case number at NVC) but in the end you will probably finish up much sooner than the 9 months. Our estimate was 5 months and it only took 3. You will need lots of patience and friends and family to keep your mind occupied while waiting. Think positive thoughts and maybe plan a trip to see your spouse in 2 months. that will break up the waiting nicely. Thats what we did and I could not have made it through this without that visit! Kept me strong! You can do this

I agree with you. I try not to think about how long this whole process will take. I'm focused on seeing my husband in Lebanon in 2 months. Hopefully we will receive our NOA2. All fingers and toes crossed. :P

Thank you, yes it was a peacock feather which was the centerpiece of my bouquet, the theme was vibrant colours because I'm a mad fan of bright things :)

And I know what you mean, I hate the contrast between having them there on cam, almost lying next to you in bed, and then that horrible moment when you hang up the call, and suddenly the room feels more empty than ever.

I may be misreading your post so correct me if I am.

The way I am reading your post is this way, you are an LPR filing for a spouse. Visas for spouses of LPR's are numerically limited each year. According to the October Visa Bulletin, it's 2 years before a visa would become available for your spouse.

If I'm reading your post correctly and you are an LPR filing for your spouse, then you are in for a longer wait after your NOA2. If you become a citizen at any time while the petition is pending, then you can upgrade it to "spouse of US Citizen" at which point a visa will be immediately available as visas for spouses of USC are not subjected to any kind of numerical limitation.

My wife is LPR, Interesting what you say, i didn't know that, , im the beneficiary, next year she apply for citizenship, anyway, we have to wait longer than usual according to your comment.

Thanks for your time Ryan.
