Hello All,

For the I-130, did anyone who gained citizenship through their parents do the N-600, meaning, gained citizenship in their own name? I think it should be fine, but just wondering, I do have my U.S Passport and all....

I'm sure many did it, not knowing that the purpose of the CoC is to get the first U.S. passport. If you have a U.S. passport already, for what purpose would you want a CoC? Frame it? A $600.00 wall decoration?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The guy at the local USCIS said that it might create an issue down to road, as to why i didnt have the certificate in my own name. I figure he was trying to squeeze an additional 500 bucks or so out of me. But thanks for your input.

You only will need it if you want to join the C.I.A., F.B.I., or one of Uncle Sam's black-ops torture squadrons that officially don't exist.
