September Filers? =)

Called USCIS today... they basically told me everything that everyone has been saying on here. They told me the CSC is back logged and right now they are working on applications filed on Aug. 2nd. From reading the forums on here it seems like they have been telling people Aug. 2nd for a little while now. I'm hoping that by now they are a little past that date. My husband and I filed our I-130 on Sept. 15th and they told us to wait 30 to 45 more days and if we don't hear anything by then we are to call again. I guess there is nothing we can do but continue with this horrible waiting game! If anyone has any advice for us or are in a similar situation let me know. Thanks!

CSC Process

9/12/11- Sent out I-130

9/15/11- Rec'd NOA 1

3/6/12- 5 months 21 days- Still waiting for NOA 2 :/

3/7/12- Called USCIS- say they are back logged and to wait 30 to 45 more days :(

3/27/12- NOA 2 Approved!!(194 days from NOA 1 date)

I think they do petitions in groups by the type, right now they seem to be doing more K-1 whereas a little over a month ago the K-1s were sitting. Just my guess.

They're halfway through October filings posted on VJ already, so I personally don't believe the 8/2 thing. From looking at other people's timelines (a very painful thing to do!!) it seems like whether it takes 3 months or 7 months is purely luck. Have you tried calling your congressman? They might be willing to do an inquiry. Not sure if that helps though. Hang in there!!

9/19/11 - sent I-129F

9/21/11 - email NOA1

9/27/11 - hard copy NOA1

3/20/12 - congressional inquiry (6 months since NOA1)

4/4/12 - inquiry result: petition approved (still no NOA2 text/email/letter)

4/20/12 - packet 3 received from embassy

On the interview request form it mentions the word "main applicant". Is that me (petitioner) or her? I'd like to assume it's her since she will be the one going to the interview. Any help?

Sep 17, 2011 - NOA1

Mar 09, 2012 - NOA2

Mar 23, 2012 - Packet 3

May 07, 2012 - Interview - Approved

May 21, 2012 - POE

Jun 03, 2012 - Married

Jul 06, 2012 - SSN Received

Yes that is her... she is the one applying for the visa. You petitioned for "PERMISSION" for her to apply for a K-1 visa.

I have not contacted my congressman as of yet. I'm thinking of doing that just because anything is worth a try right now. It really does seem like it's luck right now. Because I was looking and there are alot more september applicants that are getting approved. Hopefully it'll be picked up sometime soon!

it is quite confusing i think because the foreign fiance/e goes from being the beneficiary to the applicant... it took me ages to work out who was who lol

my advice is not to call anyone because for every call that you make and every answer you dont get, the more frustrated you become. of course it is easy for me to say that because i havent had to wait longer than the stated times lol

godspeed

I'd call your congressman. It's a fairly quick call and they typically have someone who knows the deal with this stuff. They'll ask for a letter or e-mail giving them authorization to reach out on your behalf and then they will do it. Can't hurt and really doesn’t take much time/effort to do. We were approved shortly after my congressman sent a letter to USCIS. Probably just coincidence, but I'll take it!
