Hi everyone! I thought it might be nice to exchange stories of humorous events that took place during the visa process! Anything silly that you obsessed over, an amusing conversation you had with an operator, anything goes! I think we all need a good laugh!

USCIS:

04/25/2011~ I-130 sent

04/27/2011~ NOA1 received!

07/21/2011~ NOA2 email and text! 85 days!

07/25/2011~ NOA2 hard copy received!

NVC:

08/01/2011~ NVC received petition

08/29/2011~ Received case number and IIN

09/02/2011~ I-864 AOS bill received and paid

09/02/2011~ DS3032 sent by email

09/05/2011~ DS3032 accepted

09/07/2011~ I-864 status PAID

09/07/2011~ I-864 package sent overnight

09/07/2011~ IV bill recieved and paid

09/09/2011~ IV status PAID

09/09/2011~ IV package sent overnight

09/15/2011~ Received I-864 RFE

09/16/2011~ Sent RFE response overnight

09/16/2011~ Medical

09/21/2011~ NVC received RFE response

09/27/2011~ CASE COMPLETE!

11/25/2011~ Interview in London

10-05-10 - Married in California
06-13-11 - I-130 approved
10-13-11 - CASE COMPLETE!
12-02-11 - Interview - 221g due to a washed passport
12-17-11 - POE - YYC (preclearance in Canada)

2011 to 2013 - Life happened

06-26-13 - Divorce finalized

10-07-13 - I-751 divorce filer paperwork journey begins

07-03-14 - ROC interview - approval pending delayed background checks

07-25-14 - APPROVED! 10 year GC is finally in production!

08-01-14 - 10 year GC in hand. The journey has finally ended. :)

2014 to 2020 - Living paperwork-free and focused on me!

11-09-20 - N-400 filed online - welcome back VJ fam!

6-22-21 - Interview in Nashville, approved! And then...

6-22-21 - Pledge of Allegiance taken. Holy shirtballs I'm a US Citizen.

 

I've spent so many years in the loving arms of the USCIS, but now it's time to fledge. So long, my friends, may all your journeys also end on the doorstep of whatever you're searching for.

Although this is not funny for the person involved... While interviewing for my wifes CR-1 in Nairobi, Kenya people were interviewed at a window in a large crowded room with the CO talking to beneficaries via a microphone and everyone can hear others interviews. This one gentlemen had gotten a tourist visa to the US to see a girl and he returned, as he was supposed. They had decided to pursue a fiance visa upon his return.. At the window, the CO kept asking him, "So, you went to the US just have sex?". The man kept saying no and the CO just kept yelling at him, "Yes, you did!". He would say no again and it just continued. "Admit it, you came to the US just too have sex!". This went on for about 2.5 minutes. I found it to be beyond rude but it was funny though...

haha thats funny.. kinda strange and embarrassing i imagine though.
