Hello VJ,

My wife is in the United States and I am deployed with the U.S. Army. I made sure that when I sent the packet, my military orders were included. My wife just received an appointment for her biometrics and I got two questions:

1- The biometric appointment will determine her approval?

2- Is there another appointment beside this one?

Thanks for your inputs,

Johnny G

1. Biometrics won't determine her approval. Biometrics is just a simple routine of taking her picture and fingerprints.

2. There might be an interview, but only 5% of all who filed get the interview appointment. The interview will determine her approval if you get any.

First of all, thank you so much for your serivce!

To try to help you with your questions...

Biometrics appointment does not determine that the application. You won't even be needed for that appointment. It's just a matter of having fingerprinting done.

There will most definitely be another interview following this. She will probably receive a notice in the mail following the biometrics.

Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks for your info. Now, after she takes the biometrics and photos..whats going to happen? Is she going to wait for her approval letter or interview if necessary? Or will she received her new GC?

Thanks

She waits to find out if she has an interview or if she is approved thats all. If she is approved without interview then the green card will come in the mail.

Agree

She might also get a Request for Evidence (RFE) if there is not enough evidence of bona-fide marriage in the original package.

Thanks for the Service to this Great Country.

Biometrics is for Photo/Fingerprints/Signature, this is used for GreenCard and FBI checks, no bearing on approval.

It is possible(slightly) that you may recieve RFE letter and/or an Interview, if you sent in all the correct evidence showing a Bonafide marriage then you have nothing to worry about, also Service personnel from what i have seen on VJ are processed very quickly.

Again, Thanks for Your and Fellow Servicemens Service, God Bless.
