Case received by embassy?

I got the NVC letter about a week ago, and I wanted to know what number I can call to know if the US embassy in London has received our case or not. I looked on the website but I could only find UK numbers.

Secondly, can my fiance schedule his medical now, before he gets the letter to get a head start?

And for those of you who have already got your K1 visa, how long did it take you from when the embassy received your case, to when the foreign fiance entered the U.S? I'm really hoping we have Christmas together, but I don't want to get excited about it just yet. What do you think the chances of that are?

Progress so far:
October 2008 - First started talking online/webcams.
February 11, 2010 - Engaged!
April 12, 2011 - Sent I-129F
April 25, 2011 - NOA 1
August 25, 2011 - NOA 2 (Exactly 4 months!)
September 2, 2011 - Received by NVC and forwarded to London Embassy
September 20, 2011 - Packet 3 received!
December 12, 2011 - Medical Exam in London.
January 17, 2012 - Interview letter came in mail.
February 14, 2010 - Interview! APPROVED!
February 20, 2012 - Visa in hand.
March 27, 2012 - Port of entry at JFK!
June 14, 2012 - Married! <3
September 25, 2013 - Green card in the mail!

You can call the NVC and ask if your packet has been sent to the Embassy. Call this number: 603-334-0700

You will need to speak with an operator...so you'll have to call on a weekday.

Secondly...yes, your fiance can schedule his medical now as long as you have the case number from NVC (should start with the letters "LND"). Just make sure that he has sent the application to get his police certificate first, as he will need that when he goes for his medical. When my fiance went for his medical, he called the Knightsbridge Doctors on a Monday and they said they could give him an appointment that Thursday. It does take roughly 2 - 3 weeks to get the police certificate, so we waited until he had that in hand before scheduling the medical.http://www.acpo.police.uk/documents/ACRO/20110412%20ACRO%20Police%20Certificate%20Application%20Form%20v15.pdf

Here is some additional information about the medical. There is a questionnaire at the end that he will need to print out, complete and take with him to his medical. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/IV018a%20_IV%20medical%20letter_%20Aug%202011%20_1_.pdf

Hope this helps. Good luck!

You can call DOS to find out about your case at the embassy and if it made it to the embassy. Here's a link on how to get thru to an operator:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/264972-shortcuts-when-checking-for-updates-from-the-nvc-and-dos/

As was already posted, you can schedule your medical if you know your NVC case number. Good luck.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!
