We had our AOS interview this morning. Our appointment time is actually at 12:30pm but we got there around 10:30am. After waiting for 30 mins, IO call my name ans said thanks to us as we came there so early. :D

After she's done checking few paper work, she asked

1. How and when did you meet? (and she asked where our country is.. and we chit chat about that for few mins)

2. How and where did he propose?

3. How was our 3 year long distance relationship?

4. Then he asked a few questions taken directly from the filing forms.

5. How to pronounce my full name?

6. She asked to see passports/ID only, she didn't ask to see our birth certificates, joint bank account, even our wedding photos.

7. After that, I was given approval a stamped letter confirmating the decision, no stamp was placed in my passport.

When we were back to our car, it was only 11:30pm .. :D We called to my sister-in-law and she was so scared to pick up the phone as she thought we forgot something. :D And when I pass our good news, she said "Humm, it's not 12:30pm yet" :D It's funny, huh?

Over all, IO is very friendly but her eyes is so sharp.... Well, finally, my 4 months AOS journey went well. I can sleep tonight well. I have no stress for my status for 2 years.

Thanks to all my VJ members, Sep filers, special thanks to "dessndave" who guide me well.

so we spoke with a very friendly representative at the USCIS yesterday who informed us that our local service center is only processing June 30th at the moment and we just have to wait.

Luckily though she put in a service request for his EAD.

so no green card for xmas.

Update on my Case: Last week we received an RFE explaining why my husband was exempt in his 2010 tax, we mailed the request earlier today. Before noon, we got a call from USCIS asking me a free day for my green card interview, so me and my husband told her over the phone that we want to have an interview as soon as possible, so we decided to make it happen on Friday noon Dec 23, 2011 at Kansas City. I think this is a good sign that my papers are moving. She took my husband email number coz she says she will email all the required documents that we need to bring and the complete address of Kansas USCIS office. I just hope everything will be fine..

I never get an update to my EAD and AP, i think they forgot about it already, they're just concern about the green card.

Is it possible to have an interview first before EAD an AP? just curious..

Hey how was your interview? Did you get approved? Update us!! :) happy holidays!!

Merry belated Christmas to everyone currently waiting to hear any news at all. <<<= (that's supposed to be a tree :) )

We haven't seen a change in our case but I'm assuming they aren't working this week on much.

Another update that I received my permanent resident card (green card!) on the 24th. Yay!

A couple notes about the process-when I went for the interview, the officer asked whether I had assembled the documents myself or whether I used a lawyer. When I said myself, she smiled and said she could tell because I sent in multiple copies of everything (i.e. separate copies of the marriage certificate/I-94/passport photocopies, etc.). She said that we did not need to do that...that just sending it with one application (i.e. the 485 and not the 131, or 765) was enough. I'd still rather be safe than sorry but she did point this out. Don't know whether this is just her preference or applies to all of USCIS but interesting nonetheless!

The other note that is if you previously have an A# from from OPT or something after graduation, this is NOT the A# to put on your application. They will assign you a new one for the 485 process so just leave the A# field blank. Even though my previous 765 card had an A# on it, she said that is was no longer relevant.

Hope all of you have successful interviews soon and I will continue to check in and offer help if needed!

Just got a txt and email update.

" On December 28, 2011, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location."

Does national benefits center means that my case was transfered?

Thanks
