AOS was approved!! Interview was sooo easy. The guy was really friendly and pretty much said we were approved before we even sat down. He said, "I've been looking over your file, and seeing you guys - well, I'm a pretty good judge of character." He looked over our stuff again while he talked to us, made jokes, and just made us feel really comfortable. He asked us how we met, and how it progressed from there.

The best part was that he stamped my passport with an I-551 so that I could leave the country ad come back before I actually get my greencard in the mail. I'm going to visit my family in Canada, leaving Dec 14th, and we weren't sure that I'd have the greencard by then, so this will ensure that I can still travel :)

Painless and easy....thanks everyone for all your help along the way. I hope everyone else's goes this smooth.

Congrats --welcome to the "Green Card Club ".

Oh my friends! I guess i should forget about being with my family for christmass ;(

I cant believe i havent got my interview yet. I thought the walk in for fP was going to speed my process, but it looks like it made it delay.

Should i been waiting for email or txt from uscis? Or just forget about?!?

Oh guys please pray for me. It have been almost 5 years not seeing my family!

What? Damn! What exactly did you say? Can I quote you and maybe it might happen to me as well? Lol

I just asked when to expect the results of my wife's petition. They did not want to speak to me so I had to do a 3 way calling with my wife on the line. As I said it the conversation was less than a minute.

Just back from my AOS interview at Fresno, CA.

Greencard approved!!! :)

IO was professional and friendly. He swore us in, asked to see photo IDs, then asked some routine questions, mainly a verification of the data on my application form (full name, parents' name, address, phone, previous employers, whether I had ever been arrested, dealt drugs, any criminal acts, etc.) He also asked to see the original of our marriage certificate.

The only relationship-related question he asked was how and when we met. He then took the I-94 from my passport. The rest of the time was spent making small talk with my husband (they had both worked previously for the same employer). He didn't ask for any photos or evidence of relationship. I think we spent about 40 minutes in total in his office. He told us to expect the GC within 4-6 weeks, though more likely within 10 days. He also reminded us the GC would be conditional and we would need to file for removal 90 days before the end of the 2 year period.

And that was it!!

We are so relieved and happy... and now back to our normal life. Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!

Dec 05, 2011: Received U.S. permanent resident status (AOS based on K-1 visa)

Dec 16, 2013: Removal of conditions on green card

Apr 28, 2015: Became a U.S. Citizen

Thanks!

I basically went through the checklist on the appointment letter. So I brought originals and copies of all the documents submitted in the I-485 (marriage & birth certs, passports, docs from the I-864, personal copy of the medical I-693 completed here in the US). For evidence of marriage I brought photos from our wedding, and a few older ones, cards and notes from friends, receipts for wedding rings, joint health and car insurance. I also brought my SS card, EAD card, all notices and correspondence from the USCIS, and proof of address. And finally a copy of the complete application I sent in!

In the end they only asked for our passports and the marriage cert. But I would say it is better to be prepared and bring everything they ask for in the form letter.

Good luck on your interview!
