Interviews are standard if you are adjusting from a non-family based visa (i.e. student/visitor/business visas). If you are adjusting from a family based visa (like the K-1, etc.), then sometimes you get lucky and do not have to have another interview (since you would have had one to get that family based visa). :thumbs:

Those who are adjusting status through K1 (fiance then married to USC) oftentimes do not go through interview because they have already been through consular interview before they came in the country. I myself a K1 visa holder and although I received an interview appointment, I am expecting that my card will be approved before the interview schedule as I have observed the experiences of other K1 in visajourney. If I will have to appear before an immigration officer again, I will bring the same documents (plus marriage documents) that I brought with me during my consular interview.

I thought interviews were standard?

Update on my case: I received an email today at 5pm saying that they mailed a notice of my interview on Nov 30.

wow... congrats.. I did my biometrics on 21st Oct... still waiting for interview date and praying not to get RFE .. :P

Also filed in September or late August.. Did biometrics mid-October. Interview scheduled for early December. Our interview is around 1pm. Read here that afternoon interviews tend to be longer and harder. How is everyone preparing?

K-1 Visa

I-129F application received at USCIS: November 30, 2010

I-129F approved: March 28, 2011

Packet 3 Received: April 11, 2011

Packet 3 forms submitted to Consulate: May 4, 2011

Packet 4 received: June 16th, 2011

Interview date: July 25, 2011 (Pink!)

"Touch" today says an interview notice was mailed and it has been scheduled for Dec 7th at the National Benefits Center. I'm presuming the letter will actually state that the interview will take place at the local office, and not require the applicant to fly to Missouri? :wacko:

Received notice in the mail yesterday stating that AOS got transferred to CSC for faster processing :dance::dance::thumbs::D Sooooooooooooo grateful! Hope all is well with everyone.

Update!!! I got a text message from USCIS this morning! 2 months after i mailed my AOS application :dance::dance::dance: This one is for my EAD...

Card/ Document Production

On November 2, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Wow! what a relief! I can now apply for work :yes::D To the rest of you guys still waiting, hang in there! Best of luck everyone! God bless!

Dec 05, 2011: Received U.S. permanent resident status (AOS based on K-1 visa)

Dec 16, 2013: Removal of conditions on green card

Apr 28, 2015: Became a U.S. Citizen
