Hey guys,

similar to "LingChe NVC ShortCut"

Hi LIFE'SJOURNEY,

I'm asking about K3. So what happens to K3 after USCIS if it does not go to NVC, then where?

if it goes to embassy straight then my previous question, is there any steps to prepare in advance?

thanks !

The K3 doesn't go thru NVC, so are you talking about the CR1? Please give correct visa type information for better HELP.

It goes straight to the embassy, the embassy will send you a letter detailing what documents to bring. The K3 documents are similiar to the K1, with some minor exceptions, you are married.

Actually, the K3 does go to the NVC just for a short while few day, just like the K1 petitions, unless its put into AP by NVC. That happened to me, when I filed a long time ago, the K3 stayed in AP at NVC for 33 days, then forwarded to embassy. But the CR1 was already at the embassy cause I did the NVC paperwork on the CR1 in 17 days, while K3 was in AP at NVC.

Thank you guys ! it is a littler clearer now. I've been reading on CR1 lately and there seems to be much paper work at NVC phase. I guess it's because those paper works goes towards Adjustment of Status. With K3, one has to do the paperwork for Adjustment of Status once arrive in US because unlike CR1, with K3 no paper works were done at NVC phase...

okay i'm rephrasing myself over and over now....

Am i correct?

Yes exactly, more paperwork at NVC for CR1, so less money later, and better benefits then a K3. Blush away my dear, you are right. Best wishes on your journey, for we are just starting our, but I was around that block once before, so luckily I know what will be around every curve.

This is correct.K3 arrives at NVC and if not immediately administratively closed, goes through NVC in the same a K1 case does. AP at NVC is fairly rare.

Close, but with CR1 there simply is NO adjustment of status. Upon US entry, the CR1 visa holder is granted the status to which a K visa holder would later adjust.
