We're headed to Guangzhou in about 2 weeks for my fiance's K-1 interview.

I've seen the suggestion of having the EOR notarized during appointment before the interview, perhaps a chance to have it noted that the petitioner was present in Guangzhou or try to talk to an officer or somesuch.

Would it not be better to have the I-134 notarized (which doesn't require notarization, I know), which is reviewed the afternoon/night before the interview, and not the EOR which is not looked at, if at all, during the actual interview?

Or am I just wasting my time writing this post and the 50 dollar notary fee?

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=China&cty=Guangzhou This is supposed to be the new requirements at the embassy. If there is a spot for notary on your EOR go ahead, cant hut in any case. Your affidavit of support I134 is for K1, the I864 is a ten year swearing of support for AOS. We found them pleasant if you are prepared.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

If you're going to be in Guangzhou with her for the interview, have her take your passport in with her. She can have it on the top of the stack of documents and the VO will know that you are there with her. The people doing the Notary are not always the same people doing the interviews and as often as not they aren't. Not to mention getting something notarized at the consulate is a PITA (they refused to notarize copies of her passport for the IRS).

And for Guangzhou, the EOR is very important and generally looked at. For our interview, the EOR and the photos were the only thing he looked at and my wife said that was generally the case.
