Canada also cares about curing people unlike the states where the pharma lobbies hold guns to everyone's heads.

To be honest, the only reason I'm moving to the states is because of marriage. I would never, ever do it if not for that. A little pissed I have to leave.

Yeah yeah yeah your country is better, need help moving back?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

$60 billion is $60 billion no matter how you slice it and that $60 billion is only the tip of the ice burg. The welfare hand outs are killing this country also, but defense doesn't have a much better track record.

We actually have something to show for defense spending. Welfare, not so much.

Slim, what I was trying to say was we don't have people flying planes into our buildings. (Yet?)

We have an amazing military and unbelievable special forces. I was told by an engineer friend who works on military projects that Canada focuses on quality over quantity. A friend of mine who was stationed in Italy (in the USN) during the main Libya conflict period was saying Canadian troops were there training U.S. military. And yeah, I know when it comes down to it, it's Us vs. Them on the battlefield, it doesn't matter where you hail from, only which side you're fighting for.

Yet is the key word there.

As long as your country (and military) are engaged in war or supporting the US in the ME you'll be targeted.

Canadian fighters were stationed in Alaska last year and covered for us when US fighters were grounded for some flaw. But that's beside the point. What the press doesn't say is that Iraqi gas and oil is already being pumped from Iraq to Europe via Turkey. Nor do you read about the gas line from the Caspian Sea to India via Afghanistan and Pakistan. That line is already 1/3 finished.

These wars aren't intended to fight against terrorist so much as they are to feed gas and oil to the West. US tax dollars fighting the big fight for big oil companies. It's sickening is what it is. Wave the flag and keep the sheep blind.

I watched all the hoopla yesterday and thought, "Wow. Has ten years really taught us nothing? Are we still that stupid?"

If you are alluding to a war over resources, wait and see what happens when the western provinces decide to stop subsidizing the rest of the Canadian economywhistling.gif

Oh snap! Canadian civil war!

'm interested in seeing where fresh water conflicts will start and end up. Canada has something like 1/3 of it in either liquid or ice states. /quote]

I doubt the (Canadian) fight will be over water.

If you're talking global conflict, I think those of us on this side of the globe are OK.

It helps pass the time.

But ya, asking someone to leave the US just because they don't agree with all the policies here is a bit extreme, especially seeing how the US is dropping further and further down the list on education, health care, jobs, etc.....the things that count in regards to living a decent life and raising a family.

I absolutely agree. Just because I don't agree with the current events/politics, PR scandals and the sociopathic capitalist scum who populate high positions of power, it doesn't mean I'll be a bad person. I just want to live my own little life with my little family.

The key is getting a job where you can post on VJ all day long.

So do all the Muslims.

I'll be rating/watching/vetting pre-school children's online learning programming all day. Might be more educational than PR.

And yes, most Muslims have no interest in ruining America from the inside out, Slim. Most want the same thing I do. Those who behave differently make all the rest look bad. But what's even worse? I knew a girl who was Pakistani by blood, but her parents (and thus her) became scientologists
