Hi all Vj'ers

My fiance just gave me some not so good news. my fiance whos petioning for me from the U.S to bring me there, just told me he might have to cut down his full time hours to part time or get a completly different job that only gives him a few hours a week with less pay, just because of personal reasons with the whole job stuff.

anyways, our timleline here is showing we should get our noa2 early november here (hopefully that is). and we are both scared that with my fiances less pay and hours that he might have to switch too, that it will effect our visa. he definatly will not be making the requirements if he switches to a lesser paying job or cutting down his hours ide assume..

also, he has no one to co sponsor for support for me anymore, we did, now we do not...

what do we do? how badly will this effect our visa? we applied at the VSC and my interview will be at the vancouver consulate here in vancouver, B.C and we are both freaking out that he will not have enough support now for me.

has anyone else ran into this issue that they can explain to me what happend where the petitoner cannot find a co sponsor or cant show enough support?

All he needs to make is enough to cover you and him and whoever else he claims on taxes. If his job cuts down to part time he still has time to get another part time job somewhere to cover the rest of the money needed for the i134.. or if he needs to get another job completely he just needs to get one that makes more than what you need on the i134

for 2 at 100% for i134 is $14,710 for 125% for the i864 is $18,387 ( I would recommend looking to the 125% even tho the 100% is the requirement for the k1 visa due to the fact that you will have to adjust status after you marry within a few months and that would require the 125% to be used)

That should be pretty easy to fulfill either between one decent job or two part time positions.

You have time until you get to the stage after noa2 and having to fill out the financial forms. Changing jobs won't affect the petition unless you don't make enough or need a co sponsor. i changed jobs between filing and getting to the nvc stage and didn't have any issues. i just put my employer letter, pay stubs and tax info etc into the packet and sent to nvc. There are a lot of ppl who switch jobs or pay during the petition process...

Good luck
