Surprised Microsoft didn't block Firefox, same guys that wrote Firefox wrote Netscape, and Microsoft sure blocked the hell out of that program.

If you want to try the impossible, try deleting Explorer from your computer.

I do like Bing Maps for 3D views of my home, at first could only load it from Explorer, but now can be loaded with Firefox. Could be because Bill retired, wonder how he is making out without his paycheck? Google just purchased Motorola Cellular, maybe soon they will purchase Microsoft. Wouldn't mind that being enslaved to MS for the last 25 years.

Thought we lived in a country with a free enterprising system, wherever did I get that idea? If Reagan wasn't elected, wouldn't even be a Microsoft, promised less regulation, and that is what we got. But we were thinking in terms of the IRS, EPA, and fifteen hundred other governmental agencies with less regulation on us.

Just loaded chrome and on it now - tested OK with brokers

looks a bit bare but I will give it a go

I have a 25mb internet and 1 gig router switch so not a huge diff in speed so far

That's what I love about Chrome - clean, simple, no annoying toolbars or add-ins, etc. And yes, the spell checker on Chrome automatically underlines the words that are misspelled. I'm sure you saw that by now. Cheers.

I have been using iespell with my Internet Explorer 9 as it has a link from VJ spell checker....

but mine is all screwed up

AND it doesn't check as you type

I have uninstalled it and installed speckie

Its fabulous and underlines in red as you type

It's free so I am not advertising !

Google <speckie download> if you are interested

Only noobs use Internet Explorer. Google Chrome is #1 and Firefox is #2.

Couple good things about it. Way faster, easy to use, it practically reads your mind when you go to type a URL (for example all I type is the letter "V" and the visajourney politics/religion link immediately comes up).

Also, where you type web addresses (forget what it is called) - that bar also doubles as a google search...You can type right into it just like you would a google search bar (eta: I was not on the google page when I typed into the search bar (yellow) - it automatically takes you there though - and the blue are my top secret folders)

Thanks for that info

I don't trust my brokers to interface with chrome yet but that is worth knowing !

LOL

Historically speaking, explorer is the least secure browser on the market.

Yep the bareness is quite deceptive as there are quite a lot of options pages underneath it

Instead of add-ins, it calls em 'extensions' but the auto-reload extension is great and integrates so smoothly

I cant do without it if I have two brokers and two banks open - those pages time out really quickly but auto-reload keeps em open until I am done with them

this is the link - its slick

The only downside is that it updates on the fly, and usually when you are not in the mood for it.

That would be a bummer if it loses the current page while it is updating the browser program.

I am used to the cat jumping on the keyboard and buying 50k of BP stock , but I don't want my browser losing a deal I am setting up

I usually have margarine on my fly as I co-process my bagel at the computer, but updating on the fly is not wanted

ps the comp crashed during this post and when i re-started it, chrome brought me into this reply - it had kept it just where it crashed

impressive

The history and cache are very user friendly, too friendly perhaps. I use the incognito feature if I am sure I don't want anybody to see where I have been, or know I have been there.
