Hello all,

My husband was approved for his green card about 3 weeks ago (August 18th). Since then we moved to a new apartment. We were living with my parents. We haven't gotten his green card yet, but at most we will be staying in this apartment for a year. We are only about 30 minutes away from where we were living before, and since it's my parents' house we can still get mail there, and we actually still stay there about once a week when we visit them.

How urgent is it for him to change his address?

Thanks!

9/24- I-129F received by CSC

I would suggest changing the address with USCIS directly, sure. I would not file the change of address with the US Post Office until I had received the green card. My stepbrother had trouble receiving his after an address change - I presume the envelope may be stamped, "do not forward".

This way, you will be covered if they have not mailed it yet (they will mail it to to your new address), you will be covered if they have already mailed it (it won't be returned to sender due to forwarding), and you will be satisfying the legal requirements.

Good luck! And congrats

The petitioner needs to fill in I-865 change of address and the beneficiary needs to fill in AR-11 this can be done online but I could not for some reason it would not work for me so I mailed mine and my husbands was mailed to as they go to different addresses. We received confirmation for his I-865 that they updated our address info. I never received anything for the AR-11.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month
