Ok... so we called DOS again yesterday ... two weeks ago Addy got someone who told him that its in review at embassy (STILL??????) we were told he was going to name checks on july 25.. and the guy told him that when its completed they will contact us via email or phone call to pick up visa. Then yesterday the lady told me there have been no updates and its still pending...i asked if anything has been updated and she said no but the next update you should get will be Congrats your visa has been issued....I know that they do a review at the end of name checks as well to go over the case to issue the visa...could that be where we are? When we ask specific questions they always tell us they can't discuss that.

Now i dont want to get my hopes up for this to be over in another month or two so idk if I should consider what they are saying as its beginning to come to an end or not :(

Hope your suffering ends soon EAbbas. you truly suffered enough.

Don't worry. just take your mind out of it and get busy with another stuff and time will pass without noticing it.

Just like I did until US embassy suddenly called me. I know my case isn't big as yours but you have to be patient.

Eabbas I know exactly how you feel. I am in the same boat as you. We are in AP 32 days today. DOS is not much help as they don't give out any details. I dont really understand what is the big secret that they cant disclose to us.

Yeah I know.. they can't disclose the case details.. you know i dont think we are even asking for details just give us something... like ok name checks initiated... 3 checks requested 2 completed waiting for last one.. dont have to tell us exactly what checks or even if anything happened on them... just give us a little bit so we stop calling so darn much... :(

I guess AP is supposed to be this big secret process. It's so unfair to go month after month just hearing "your case is still pending". Can you believe we have already paid for the visa and we get treated like this?

I know what you mean, I might go live with my spouse overseas in pakistan untill our CR1 visa is approved. It sux bcuz Ill have to request discharge from my service.

Hey guys,

I haven't been here for a while, mostly because I get depressed the more I think about this Visa stuff. My husband has been in AP for nearly 3 months now,

we plan to call the embassy to see what's going on since you can call every 3 months or so... lets hope this is the last time we have to call them.

I wish they would just tell us whether he's going to get it or not, at this point I don't care I just want to be with him-

I have a 9 month old and its sad she doesn't even recognize her own father...

I hate this *#######* ... By the way guys, DOS isn't hiding anything. I asked them if they know more and its confidential,

they said that a couple of months ago they were given info as to where the application is and were allowed to share the information.

Right now, even they don't know ! All they see on their system is whether its been issued or not. So it's not really their fault either.

What I don't get is, they waste so much time before the interview doing a background check, why can't they just do the name check beforehand,

and why is it so necessary. I HATE the US Visa process it makes NO SENSE! people who aren't married can get here in 5-6 months but people

who are married have to wait long?

*cursing in my mind right now*

I totally agree with you, they should do all the checks before the interview. I just found out from DOS that people get put on AP after the interview not before. More I learn about how this system works the more, I hate it how immigration system works in ISLAMABAD. My wifes been on AP since 14 July 11, she's lived at same address her entire life, never had a passport or travelled outside the country, never a criminal record.

IDK what is going on, we hit the 4 month mark next week and when we call DOS it ranges from "Pending" to "They are working on it now" to "We are just waiting on the Embassy." I dont know whats going on BUT if it doesnt look like an end is near, I will be looking for jobs in Comoros or Tanzania.
