Hi everyone, I wanted to know more about sponsoring the person....I just started working so I knew that I would be needing a co-sponsor, which I have plenty in line ready to help with that. My question is (maybe i's a silly one, just want to make sure though), do both myself and the co-sponsor have to qualify for the "over poverty level" line or just one of us have to. I know for now since I just started working I don't qualify but my co-cponsor does, would it be a problem because I don't qualify now?..Please answer..thanks a million guys!!

The co-sponsor has to qualify for over the poverty line, including all his/her dependents including you. The reason you have to get a co-sponspr is that you don't qualify. Both you and the co-sponsor have to fill their own I-134 and supporting documents. Good luck.

hi,

yes only one needs to qualify that's why you use a co-sponsor to help you because you don't qualify if you did qualify you wouldn't need a co-sponsor at all. you're welcome good.gif
