Hi. I married my wife here in the States but she returned to her home country to give birth to our son who is now 6 weeks old. I'm a US citizen and have started the immigration filing for my wife at the consular's office in her home country last month. Because i was overseas last year my income tax for 2010 shows about $2k. My family is refusing to co-sponsor her, even though they were the ones who encouraged me to marry her.

I was wondering if anyone knows any way that i can facilitate her to receive a visa so we can all be together. i am now back in the US and i miss my wife and son dearly. I have started a new business so i do not have any previous year record of income from it. I do not have any assets but only the inventory that i put my money into. I've been making about $5 to 6k per month in my new business.

I've been researching all possible routes but end up hitting the wall w every possibility due to my situation, which i'm sure is not that unique.

Thanks for reading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to secure a joint sponsor. Without one you will have to wait until you can prove a sufficient income. Any US citizen or Green Card holder can be a joint sponsor.

For a self employed person that income is the amount shown on line 22 from your most recent form 1040 tax return.
