The Ukraine is rather easier.

I agree.

I just came from Kyiv in July visiting my fiance. And it was great beatiful city a lot of places to go. While a lot of my relatives are from Kyiv, this was my first visit.

Thank you so much everyone. And it turns out as I got more information updated from my hubby, the lady personally told him what to do and what the document was. She said they would send us the visa after they receive the papers, in other words he is approved and I over worried for nothing x] <3

But thank you all so much, your words were very helpful. And he has gotten his personbevis in english so he is all set there, all that is left is his doctors appointment which is on its way.

He has to get an English translation of his Swedish birth certificate. It needs to be accompanied by a certificate of translation, for which you can find a template here on VJ or on USCIS website. The certificate basically just needs to state that the person who translated it is fluent in both languages.

No need for certified translation. The Swedish TAX Authority will issue him a new "Person Record Extract" immediately in english. It is what they use for birth certificate.

Sounds like the guy went to the right place and did the right thing. :)

I'm glad that you have everything sorted out and on its way to approval.

Regarding referring to your fiance as your 'husband' even though you are not yet married, please tell him to be very sure he does not inadvertently refer to you as his wife when he arrives at the POE to the US or they will deny him entry. You are his fiancee and he needs to remember to use that word only. There have been fiance/fiancees denied at interviews and at the border because they have gotten so used to calling their fiancee/es 'husband' and 'wife' that they used this term to an immigration or border official and were then deemed ineligible for a 'fiancee' visa.

So, just a word of caution . . as much as you like to view yourself as married already, make sure you don't cause yourself problems by forgetting you are still only engaged legally. USCIS does not have a sense of 'romance' , nor are they very 'understanding'.

Good luck with the rest of the visa process. You will be married soon enough  .
