Hello everyone, my case was completed August 31, 2011 and I am waiting to find out about my interview at the Consulate in Montreal. I'm living in Toronto and my husband is working in Maryland.

Does anyone know approximately how long it takes to find out when my interview date will be scheduled? Does the NVC schedule the interview or do I schedule the interview on the Consulate's website? I am 6.5 months pregnant and fear that I will only be able to safely travel for another 2 months. This will be our first child and we were hoping that we could be together for our son's birth. Any advice on how the interview scheduling process works and how it might be expedited would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

NVC books spousal visas. You cannot expedite because you are pregnant. Your just going to have to wait for the interview to be booked. Call NVC and keep asking if an interview has been booked yet.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

It took approximately 6 weeks from the time I received an instruction package to the date I received my notice of interview. My interview was scheduled for Sept 2nd, just short of a month after the notification.

So if you were to follow a similar timeline as I was fortunate to get, it is going to be extremely close to your due date.

Best of luck.

Thanks for your reply and the reply above. I have been reading about instruction packages and packet 3 and packet 4 and I'm confused. I haven't received any packages or packets in the mail I have only received instructions from the NVC via email. The last email I received from NVC stated that my case was completed and that I should wait for an interview date. Was the instruction package you are referring to packet 3?

Packet 3 has been renamed the "Instruction Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants". Packet 4 is referred to as the "Appointment Package for Immigrant Visa Applicants".

I received Packet 3 June 18th by email - and after (finally) getting my police criminal record check, had all the documents available and DHL'd them to the US immigration (during the lovely postal strike)within a few days.

I received Packet 4 by email August 5th, with an interview date of September 2nd. I already got a phone call this morning saying my DHL package is available for pickup. (yay)

I hope this helps to answer some of your questions.

We got NVC complete notification on July 13 and then received an interview date of September 2. This was a Friday and by the following Tuesday DHL in Brampton had her visa (passport)....I thought it took a little longer than expected to get an interview date, but the interview was cake and then the visa came right away, so no complaints.

I don't know anything about any packets. We e-filed everything, and then we took original docs to the interview. We were getting a CR1.

My interview was Sept 2nd as well and I got an email from DHL on Tuesday that my parcel was in their hands and then a call on Wednesday that it was available for pickup. That is amazingly fast considering I was told 2 weeks for it to process and I'm in way way Northern BC. :)

Glad things went well for you apeks! :)
