Very disappointing turn of events. I had hoped that the Thai political system had matured to the point where change could occur within the system, but apparently not.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Good to see for once a government overthrown that doesn't involve the U.S. or Muslims.

Actually, the AP reported that Gen. Sondhi who is in charge of the coupe is a Muslim. Anyway, I hope they resolve this soon and in a non-violent way. Just when I finally got approved with the NOA2 and IMBRA, this has to to happen.

We tried everything from peaceful gathering to court order but Thaksin still remain in Thailand and despite he say he is following the rules he actually breaks all the rules and corrupt to the core.. so when everything doesn't work and the system collapse the only thing we can count on is the patriot of our people. and by the way.. Thaksin control most of the system so no use to count on them since it's also corrupt.

From the US Embassy's (in Bkk) website:

From the US Embassy's (in Bkk) website:

group calling itself the Committee for Democratic Reform under the Monarchy as Head of State has apparently seized control of the government institutions in Bangkok and declared martial law.

We have seen various reports that the military has deployed troops around key government facilities and other strategic locations around Bangkok.

There are no indications of any violence at this point.

We advise all American Citizens to continue to monitor the situation closely, avoid any large gatherings and exercise discretion when moving about the city.

At this point, we are not advising Americans to leave Thailand; however, Americans planning to travel to Thailand may wish to consider deferring travel until the situation becomes clearer.

The Embassy will continue to follow developments closely. If there is any important information regarding the security of US citizens the Embassy will post it on the U.S. Embassy Bangkok and Department of State websites.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
