I have heard that about points east. We used to make fun of New Yorker's rolling pinner's. Drugs were always available, and usually is sufficient quantity from my high school years onward. California is drug central.

California may seem to be drug central but Texas is maybe even a bigger transshipment point. Houston is huge in maybe more drugs come through our port than the oil and petro chemicals combined. ( I am exaggerating)

Sex, drugs and rock and roll was king but not in the 60's. 70's through the 80's.

Sad that. The Mexican drug cartels and gangs have pretty much taken over production in California, and the best stuff is actually being exported to other states where they can get a better price. I imagine similar is happening in Texas. White kids have been forced into the cornfields in the Midwest and back pastures in the Mountain states to grow and manufacture their products.

Yes. We used to ship the better quality north and especially the northeast to get the best prices. Been out of that scene for about 30 years but imagine it is still the same.
