the interview letter USCIS sends you is rather detailed as to what to bring, so you will know exactly what to bring etc. As usual, bringing too much is better than not bringing enough...have all originals plus copies. Others have posted what they brought to their interview so search the forum and it'll ease your mind.

Good luck :)

Hey all,

As you can see from my timeline below, I got my biometrics appointment pretty quickly. Until now I haven't received an RFE or a notice that there's a problem with the package we filed. With our application, I sent in some evidence like proof of joint account (letter from the bank), sworn notarized statements, I didn't send in any pictures. I have some questions about the interview:

1) When I go in, do I take the originals of the complete AOS package?

2) If I already sent in evidence, do I need to bring more proof like pictures in addition to the original copies of the letter from the bank and notarized statements?

3) Is my husband allowed to be in the interview room with me or do they interview us separately?

4) All we have is a joint bank account, we have a rented apartment and one car in his name, should I be worried that it won't be enough evidence?

5) Will they ask me stuff about the United States history or is it just for the K-1 or CR-1 applicants, that's where I read it. Or do they just ask about our personal information?

6) And if there's anything else I need to know, please share.

Thanks :)

You do realize that the biometrics appointment is just to take fingerprints, right? They won't ask any questions and you don't need to bring any evidence of anything.

You may or may not have an AOS interview where they would interview you and your spouse.

The OP will have a mandatory interview later because she is not AOSing from a K-1 visa. Everyone in this forum will have a mandatory interview (This is not the AOS from K-1 forum and the same advice there won't work here).

Yeah the interview is mandatory, I know the biometrics is only for fingerprinting and stuff..I am just trying to gather things as I go and save things like receipts, we usually throw them out :) Most of our picture albums are on facebook, but I'm going to print them out and put together an album. I'm hoping since I'm in Maine, the interview will come around quickly, from what I've read, there were only 3 reviews for my area. Not many immigrants around here.

The biometrics is also for the photograph they're going to use on the green card. You probably don't want to look like you just climbed out of bed.

Hi again,

I got a letter today asking for additional evidence, my birth certificate in the original language which is Arabic, that's doable. And they also asked for the tax returns for the most current year and my husband wasn't making any money during 2010, so we just send in a written explanation, there is no proof, so they just believe us or do they do some kind of check on his SSN? They also asked for his employment letter which I already sent in..it included his position, his company, hourly wage and date of employment. I'm guessing they lost it because they said that we didn't include it.

I did also send in an employment letter for the company that I work for as a part timer to be included in our total income; the company is located in Jordan, I have never worked in the US since I'm not allowed to yet. The RFE included a request for tax revenues for my job and proof that I could work, etc. I think there was a misunderstanding and they thought I worked here but my employment letter stated in Amman-Jordan. Since I did not work in the US, will sending a letter to them explaining all this be okay? I don't want to get misinterpreted and will they think I lied to them..I'm really scared that I will get in trouble but I didn't do anything illegal..I thought my income could be counted even if it isn't US based.

I did post this in a separate post but am not getting much feedback.

Please help.

Thanks

You income in Jordan is irrelevant.

Yes I understand that part..was just wondering if they consider it illegal abroad while filing for AOS, I'm not a resident yet
