What??

You left out SOGO ??

Any place that has a sign in the lobby that says "Foreigners bring NO MINORS" has got to be a classy joint ---

Beware of the giant cockroaches that stay with you at Casa Nicarosa

My wife and I stayed in Sofitel, and it was great! Only sour note was I said let's walk to embassy since it's so close. Crazy filipina was throwing rocks at us, in front of other people no less! Seems it was our fault for walking down the street hand in hand... Anyways, take a taxi or jeep, cause like me I was about to lunch this chick, while everyone said it's my fault for being a foreigner! If given the choice show up the day before and leave as soon as possible. Country is so much better in the province then that run down city...

I just want to share my experience trying to book a room at City Garden Suites in Manila. I booked directly on their website. Shortly after booking I received and email to "enter my credit card information on their secure website," which I did. Then I received another email stating that my CC was invalid. It is not invalid and they actually had not even attempted to charge my card. We went back and forth about it through email, then eventually they said they would not even attempt to charge the card because I was not going to be present at the hotel- only my fiancee would be there. It clearly states on their website that if the person making the reservations is not a guest that the actual guest needs a copy of the CC and ID of the person that is paying for the room. Eventually they asked me to send them a CC and ID copy, as well as a letter of authorization. Although I think it is a horrible idea to email a CC and ID to anyone, I took a chance because I wanted the room. After receiving the email with the CC copy, ID, and authorization letter, they responded asking for a SECOND ID. At that point I told them I was tired of playing ridiculous email games and to cancel my reservation. Their response? That they will charge my card a cancellation fee! Not very likely they will do that since they already said they can't charge it! Anyway, we'll see what they do. I easily booked at Lotus Garden without any questions or problems after that ordeal. I do not recommend City Garden Suites.

Paragon Tower Hotel was great during our stay for the Medical at St Lukes.

It is very near SLEC - 1 minute walk.

Below the hotel there is a 7/11 and Puregold - a grocery store.

There are also many fastfoods and restaurants nearby (2minutes walk to Mcdonalds and Shakey's).

I booked via agoda.com at 2,000Php per night.

Breakfast not included but there is a water heater appliance available at the room.

Their deluxe room is very huge and wide.

You can also ask the front desk for housekeeping everyday.

We stayed there for 5 nights and 4 days.

The downsides of this hotel: there were small roaches at our bed and their lock and hotel is not that secured.

They are still using the key lock and the hotel is sharing building with other business establishments.

During our interview we stayed at New Miramar Hotel for 2nights at 2,000Php per night booked via agoda.com

I was nervous at this hotel because it is very old - scared of paranormal activities (lol).

But it was the cheapest I could get that is very near the embassy and also I saw some pictures online and it looked alright.

The service in this hotel was great however the hotel environment was poor.

The bedsheets, pillowcases, and towels were old and yellowish.

The floor is also covered with rug with a musty smell to it.

If you are allergic to dust, stay away from this hotel.

I also do not recommend the restaurant - the food is not great.

There are very close food spots though - chowking, jco, yellowcab.

There is also a 7/11 beside yellowcab.

I went through a similar "no show" charge from them in December. The short story is that after a 1/2 hour of the clerk not being able to check me in I got my ID back and left.

I was pretty angry when I got the charge on my card so I emailed them, got the usual run around but finally ended up with Sally the GM. She saw to it that the charge was reversed. Here is her email and I hope this helps.

How far is that hotel from St. Lukes?

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Chinook and I stayed at the Marriott one night during our February trip to 'Pinas.

It's located at Resorts World which is near Terminal 3.

It's very plush. The view from our ninth-floor room was incredible.

We highly recommend the Marriott.
