Here is a copy from my Review on TripAdvisor about The Heritage Hotel Manila

Bring a Fat Wallet”

Reviewed May 13, 2012

I stayed here the last two nights while I was in the Philippines because it was close to the airport and had an airport shuttle. It is overpriced, and everything will cost you extra. They charge 600php for 24 internet access. The Evian 330ml bottled water was 180php. The dinner buffet was 1400php. You will pay for drinks what you expect to pay in LA. I thought the airport shuttle would be free, but no. 800php for the airport shuttle. I took a cab and paid 200php. You can rent a movie for 540php and watch it on your 20" tube TV. O.K. I have complained enough. Now the positives:

Shower has very strong water flow. Close to MOA. Friendly staff. Casino in hotel if you like that sort of thing. Nice lounge with live singer. All and all I would not stay here again. The internet thing just plain ticked me off.

Stayed May 2012, traveled as a couple

Yeah,, what Wariza said.. We stayed there October 2011. Wariza's comments above about sums it up for us too.

Walked into Diamond hotel without a reservation, all they had available was a suite for 16K peso/night ($400!). Walked out and went to Bayview....it was ok, and literally right across the street from the embassy. Looked online that night and saw rooms avail at Diamond for a much more affordable 6K pesos.

Lesson learned, don't walk into the Diamond hotel unless you've already made reservations.

I have stayed at at least 8 of the hotels on the list, some a few years ago others more recently. My advise once you know your budget pick one with in it.

Look at the latest reviews on popular travel websites and use that at your reasoning. Aslo that area can be a little bit run down, (but some life may be coming back into it). Though it is safe. My prefence is staying close to Robinson's shopping mall so you can walk back and forth to hotel for food, shopping and other stuff. There is a starbucks, TGIF's, 2 Jollie Bee's, Dairy Queen, Burger King, Bowling, Movies etc. Taxis can be a rip off and traffic in Manila is terrible. Thats my two cents worth.

Are there any budget hotels near the embassy and or SLEM? Or are all the ones within respectable walking distance higher end and more expensive.

I was looking at that lotus one but I can't for the life of me figure out where it is in relation to the embassy.

Lotus is just a few blocks from each. Pretty much in between the two. Think of an "L" with Lotus sitting on the corner.

Any recommendations for something near the Korean embassyin Taguig City (122 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Town Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig city 1634, Philippines)?

Would staying in Makati be ok for this....?

Would prefer something in the $75 per night range....but most seem to be $110+ in this area.

Thanks!

Yup. Great place and environment. Only that It's quite far from Manila and the only challenge is the traffic along C5 road.

Anyone know any accommodation below $50 near US Embassy? Even motel or lodging house, as long the place, room and bathroom is clean. I don't need a WI-FI since I already have my own Wi-FI I can bring anywhere I go. Just a comfortable clean room is good enough for me. Anybody knows a place like this? Thank you! I would really appreciate any info.
