Yes, you can even rent a computer (iMac) for web surfing and printing at the hotel lobby. Surfing and printing rates are not as exorbitant as the other hotels.

Rooms are quite basic but you get a fridge and a little study/office table. There is ample space for 2 large luggage. The also have a luggage storage room beside the hotel front desk in case you want to check-out before the embassy appointment. The toilet and shower has a 3 in 1 dispenser (body soap, shampoo and conditioner).

The hotel is almost across the US Embassy, you will need to walk around 2 blocks to get to the pedestrian overpass/crosswalk to cross Roxas Boulevard to get to the embassy entrance for visa applicants.

Jollibee is a block away along M.H. del Pilar Street and right across Ermita Catholic Church; the hotel has a restaurant at the ground floor for quick meals.

Robinson's Ermita (mall) is also a few blocks away.

I signed up on their website.  I going to check them out in Manila and Davao.   Prices seem pretty good.

I know the area pretty well, I have stayed at the Eurotel a few times which is across the street from Robinson on Pedro Gil.  I like the Ermita area, lots of night life.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel 101 in January 2018. Easy walk to Mall of Asia and the waterfront. Easy taxi or Jeepney ride to everything else in Manila area.

Thought I would give my opinion to hotels..

We did stay in Hyatt City of Dreams

And

Red Planet Aseana in Pasay 1 block from city of dreams.

Mall of Asia quick taxi or free shuttle bus from COD.

Both have plenty of taxi service.

Close to airport(taxi doesn't usually use, have to say-use sky Express toll 35 peso to and from airport saves lots of traffic time or worries of timing)and Roxas Blvd  so embassy is easy 10 minutes when no traffic early morning..@150peso.

So for central,  both..

But

Red planet is small clean room..small..but simple..I paid @40usd.

I use Agoda for my hotel booking in Asia.

City of Dreams is nice, 5 years old new...

All the amenities, pool and casino..lots of food for pay...

Up to you on what to pay or how much you want to use the hotel.

I very much like both, since 10 minutes from airport..up to you to go big or not..

And, just my opinion..ty

i think we must also consider the budget friendly hotels and our safety 😂 during my medical in st lukes we stayed in red planet it wasn't too expensive and its walking distance to st lukes and robinson..during our cfo seminar i chose to stay in Lorenzo suites hotel in makati..and i stay in 101 hotel during our interview and while waiting for our visa and before our flight to US we stayed in belmont hotel as its just a walking distance to terminal 3..as you see while i process my application in manila all of those hotels are cheap and very reasonable..it doesnt mean that we have a usc fiance we must stay in expensive hotel just saying.

We just spent 3 nights at Casa Bocobo which is really close to St Lukes. She went there today. I'm waiting at the hotel. This hotel is nice for under 40 dollars a night. 1900 pesos for the bigger room with a medium sized fridge and big table with chairs and a closet for hanging clothes. It also has a small desk and another chair and a nice bathroom with a shower with a sliding door. The bed is big enough and the tv is like 32-37" and at the foot of the bed so it's fine. A lot of cheap places have a 13-19" tv hanging up near the roof with a bad signal so it's basically useless. They also have gross bathrooms with a shower next to the toilet, usually roaches as well. Nothing like that here.

The street that this hotel is on is a lot quieter than some of the others in the area. Before I booked it I did a google earth walk around the streets in the area and realized that a lot of the hotels around here are in the middle of what looks like the ghetto. This one is not. There is a 7-11 next door and a McDonalds next to that at the corner and we checked in at 11pm and went to both. Across the street is a small computer business and a large building for a company that people line up in the morning to enter but no action around here at all at night other than people hanging out at 7-11. No shady looking people in the area so even my picky fiance felt safe here unlike if we had stayed down the road on the other side of St Lukes.

Tomorrow night we are checking in to another hotel over by Robinsons so I'll probably say something about that one later. Then after her Interview we are moving over to Makati for a couple nights because there are a lot of restaurants we want to try there and then a week over near Megamall in the Ortigas Center area. We're staying in some Condotels and it'll be the first time doing that for us.

We stayed at the Red Planet in Mabini. Enjoyed our stay there. It was a 15 minute walk to the Embassy. We filled for Spouse visa. We enjoyed the location because it allowed us to enjoy our walk to the embassy and back. The negative was all of the prostitute houses along the street. Never seen so many brothels in my life in one location.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Next time try Red Planet Manila Bay, it like 45 second walk to the USEM.  It's a brand new hotel, best RedPlanet I have stayed at. For the price it the best deal on a hotel in Manila area.

This is so common in all parts of Philippines, I stayed at RedPlanet Makati and it was full of pok pok bars as well.  Even going to provinces in Davao City many places become red light district after dark

Manila seems to be the epicenter for this, I guess the girls come in from the province to work.

Guess I'll give some info on a few hotels I stayed at in October/November of 2018. We stayed at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro for around 10 days in November. It is supposedly a higher end hotel, which I suppose is partially true. It had a very secure entrance and you can only access the elevator with your room key. The room was kind of small but fairly nice. We have a baby and needed to move around some furniture and found it to be very dirty. They did supply us with a portable pak-n-play crib which was very convenient. The swimming pool was very nice, especially at night when you could see the city lights. We've stay at the Seda Centrio hotel which is fairly close by and find that it is a much nicer hotel. They both have a nice breakfast buffet but the Seda is much newer. I would NOT recommend the Luxe for what you pay, there are better options in CDO.

Ok, now on to the Hotel 101 in Manila. I stayed there because I was given a coupon for a free night's stay from someone I know. It was a great location near the Mall of Asia, lots of resturants nearby (jollibee's, starbucks, mc'd's) and easy ride to the airport. The only draw back is that the room was very small but it was clean. I would recommend the Hotel 101 if you want a great location near the airport and Mall.

So this may not be a hotel but I suggest going to Airbnb to look for places mainly condos. I stayed at a condo right next to Robinson's place (Adriatico) and it was a 5-min walk to SLEC and probably 15 to USEmbassy. Prices were around $30-40 per night

Usually, condos provide you with basic kitchenware like stove tops, plates and bowls, water heater, oven, fridge, etc.

also if you're new, u can ask someone to give u a link for that $50 credits.

  • For my wife embassy interview I rented 1 day stay in Airbnb on 23rd floor of Grand Riviera Suites (Roxas Blvd. corner Padre Faura St., Ermita Manila) for $30/nt. This was right across the street from the Embassy. There’s a walking skybridge over Roxas blvd that will let you cross the street and get to the Embassy from the south.
  • Stayed 10 days in Airbnb in Crimson Hotel Filinvest City (near wife work). Great location with 7-11 at bottom of building & under road walkway that puts you at the front entrance of Festival Supermall Alabang. There’s also a grocery store on the side of the mall facing the Crimson hotel.

  • Stayed 7 days in Airbnb in Studio One, Northgate Cyberzone (wife work). Very small condo but was able to both stay for allotted time comfortably. Lots of 24-hour companies in area so always lots of foot traffic around. Across the street is a small outdoor mall with handful of eating (Chowking, Jollibee, McDonalds, Dunkin’ Doughnuts, 7-11). E-jeepney during the day that takes you to Festival Supermall for 11 peso.

  • First visit to Manila we stayed in Waterfront Manila Pavilion Hotel & Casino in the Ambassador Suite for approx. $60/nt. Great buffet & close to Manila Doctors Hospital, National Museum of Natural History, & maybe 5 min walk to Jose Rizal National Monument. Unfortunately, this hotel had a fire in March of 2018 and looks like it has still not re-opened for business.
  • Stayed 1 night in H2O in the jellyfish room. Mostly did this to have an entire day in Manila Ocean Park. Don’t see ourselves going back. Room was nice (especially bathroom) but was relatively expensive compared to other hotels in Manila (around $80) and the jellyfish weren’t that impressive (especially because you don’t even face them on the bed while you sleep. Also, the noise from the hallway was too loud for my liking. There was no breakfast included in the stay.
  • Stayed 3 nights in Hyatt City of Dreams (free, using credit card points). Probably the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in while visiting Manila. Really nice pool, casino, and grounds in general. Room was very nice. Nothing really within walking distance, so anywhere you do is through grab. Abt 15 mins to MOA w/traffic, 40 mins from airport. It’s in a developing part of the city, I think there’s a Mall being built right next door, but for the time being wasn’t too walking friendly for surrounding areas. I believe most people who go here stay the entire time so I’m not your normal hotel guest. We didn’t get a room with breakfast included, I’m not even sure if they offer that. There were lots of eating establishments available but they were all at additional cost to our stay.
  • Stayed 1 night in Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City before flying back to USA (free, with hotel points). Its inside Newport city that is segregated apart from the rest of Manila. Rooms are small, hotel kind of made for the travelers going to and from NAIA airport. Very walking friendly inside Newport with lots of fast food choices and has it’s own Mall. Has a skywalk to go from inside Newport City to NAIA Terminal 3. The hotel also has airport shuttles that will take you to each NAIA terminal (all my international flights were out of terminal 1). Breakfast was different in they gave you a piece of paper that was good for one breakfast meal from a bar located in the foyer of the hotel.
  • Stayed 3 different times in Microtel by Wyndham right next to MOA at the end of SM by the Bay wharf (approx. $65/nt). Across the street is the Conrad hotel with the really nice mall underneath it, next to that is MOA. SMX convention center also across the street. It was about a 15 min slow walk to the Esplanade Seaside Terminal where you board the boat for Corregidor Island tours. Overall my fav hotel to stay in while I’m in Manila. Lots of places within walking distance with the MOA so close. Hardly any traffic on the road where the hotel sits. Great view of the wharf, bay, and Conrad hotel. Went out every night to walk along the wharf and visit MOA after returning to hotel. Has a great view of the bay from the top floor that is open. Also pool on the top floor and lots of seating. Breakfast buffet was also really nice every morning. We always got a 2-queen room and one time were lucky enough to be there for a firework show so we had one of the best views available for that (FYI: most of the rooms are actually facing towards the wharf). So would recommend this hotel above anything else I’ve stayed).

Been meaning to post my suggestions in here for quite some time. I worked and lived in the Philippines for about 5 years. I eventually ended up living in Cavite. Not going to review my own home. It was pleasant though.

For USEM:

Rizal Park Hotel - Large rooms, great bathrooms, and during the week you can get really good rates. It's on the same side of Roxas as the embassy and should't be more than a 5-10 minute safe walk. Rooftop bar and in house restaurant are pricey. A quick walk across Roxas gets you many dining options. You're also super close to Ocean Park, Rizal Park, BI, Intramuros, and many other place great for locals and non so locals. This is my favorite hotel in Metro Manila by a mile.

For MOA/DFA:

Sea or Shell Residences - Close and budget friendly. Rooms are small, but how much time will you spend in your room if you're vacationing or visiting MOA? Plus you get access to pool and you're so close to Casinos and other touristy stuff.

Red Planet Aseana - Budget hotel my company would put us up at during rain/typhoon days. Not much amenities, just a cheap clean room. A little farther away from MOA than Sea and Shell, but still not more than a 15 minute walk.

Hop Inn Aseana - See Red Planet

For Makati:

Jade Suites - It's bit off the beaten path. It's a clean budget friendly place close to many restaurants and shops. You will need to take a cab/jeep if you want to get to any of the bigger malls.

Holiday Inn - I can't remember if it's attached to Greenbelt or Glorietta. My company put me here. It was pricey, I wasn't paying for it. Nice to be connected to a mall when you're going there alone.

Other places I loved:

Crimson in Alabang - Not that expensive, $80 a night. Great rooms and amenities. Quick easy travel around Alabang. Bus terminal right there if you're bus person like me. Second favorite place!

Ramada Grand Central - This is in Binondo, my favorite place in the metro. Good prices, great breakfast and you can walk right into China Town/Divisoria.

Places I would Avoid:

Microtel by MOA - You're paying a premium to be a tiny bit closer to MOA than other places. The hotel is less than 5 years old, yet felt 15 years old.

Lorenzo Suites Makati - Booked this place to crash after a flight. It's in a weird neighborhood and doesn't have an elevator.

Heritage Hotel - It's in the worst spot for traffic and cabbies there were always a-holes. Rooms have been updated since I stayed. The location is horrid.

Red Planet Manila - I felt like I may catch the clap walking in.

Conrad Manila - it's very expensive. Book a room at Sea and then go hang out at the Conrad if you want to go there.

You get what you pay for. If you must go with a budget hotel, go with something newly built.

City Garden Suites is 300m from SLEC. I booked through booking.com. I then sent a message that I would not be there with my fiance, and my card was declined. They send an invoice, and on there is a pay now button, that is small and gray. It is located under the total amount on the invoice. That took me to a paypal page which allowed me to pay in advance.

How many nights are needed in hotel near the Embassy if you are coming up from Davao for the medical, then the interview, then waiting to pickup the Visa and fly to America from Manila? It seems more expensive to keep flying back and forth from Davao to Manila, vs. staying in an inexpensive hotel. I'm thinking its 3 weeks. 2 weeks between medical and interview and 1 week after interview to pickup the Visa. Any other opinions? Thank you in advance.
