Quick Question - my fiance and I met while he was working in Canada (on a work visa)...he worked there for the past three years and moved home last year...he is now working in Ohio and we submitted our k1 visa petition....we are getting things organized for the next steps and I am trying to figure out the Evidence of Support documents...since he was working in Canada the past three years what does he need to provide as evidence of support as he doesn't have tax returns in US?? if anyone can help me out that would be great :) Thanks!

A US Citizen is required to file taxes even if they worked abroad (so is an LPR btw, which you will be in the future). For the affidavit of support, they usually base their decision on current income (his job in Ohio), but he will need to file taxes for the 3 years in Canada.

He will need to file back taxes because he should have been filing taxes when working in Canada.

Yes, as long as he back-files, and his current income is above the 125$ poverty line, you should be fine.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
