My fiance called me from the US Embassy in Romania. She said they told her that the visa was approved. They also made her wait, and said that they were having computer problems and she could come back tomorrow for her passport because they couldn't finish her visa.

Has anyone had to wait after the approval for the visa? I thought it was done same day. I am freaking out. I just want to make sure that computer problems could really happen.

Its very tough because she got a bad cold in Romania and has a 14 hour bus ride back to our home in Moldova.

Someone please offer me some advice based on experience. Is this delay of a day common?

Not sure about the computer problems, I think that's everyone's excuse for not getting work done on time. I know that in Ukraine the embassy requires the interviewee to pay $8 for overnight delivery of the passport with the visa stamp inside. It doesn't matter if the person lives in Kiev and can return to pick it up. I know that it took about a week for my wife to get her passport with the visa and she lived in Kiev.

I hope your honey will manage with the cold and everything. It's just part of the suffering we all do to get this accomplished. It is worth the trouble.
