I had a fairly neutral view on Muslims until Sofya came along..now I think they are pulling the wool over our eyes and they have a lot to hide when it comes to their support/endorsement of/sympathy with/unity with/ other Muslims and we hear precious little condemnation of fellow Muslims - ever. In fact none.

They seek to distance themselves from the stuff that goes on but will not explain the difference in their personal beliefs regading homosexuality etc and what the teachings of THEIR religious leaders is

It's dishonest and they are nestling down into the fabric of western society whilst concealing their true beliefs which are unacceptable in the west.

They will twist and turn and dissasociate - while maintaining the pretence that they in sync with their host nations.

I can handle any views which are genuinely held, but all this ducking and diving stuff makes Mitt Romney look like the straightest talker who ever existed

Three men were executed by hanging in Iran for "forbidden acts against religion," according to AFP.

Iran Human Rights explains that the state-run Iranian news agency ISNA reported that the men were put to death for acts against sharia, "based on the articles 108 and 110 of the Iranian Islamic penal code."

Articles 108 and 110 of the penal code are part of the chapter covering the punishment of sodomy, according to Iran Human Rights.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and adultery are other crimes punishable by death in Iran, according to AFP.

In 2007, Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed there were no gay people in his country.

"In Iran, we don't have homosexuals like in your country," Ahmadinejad said according to Think Progress. "We don't have that in our country. In Iran, we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who's told you we have it."

In 2005, Human Rights Watch reported on the executions of two men for homosexual conduct

Your charactersations are devoid of facts and arguments and positions on societal issues - you are just throwing personal remarks and speaking about '#######' (most pious) as you have nothing else in your armory except that. I don't think you ever had.

Don't hide behind your language understanding because you understand me well enough to know not to voice your true opinion on homosexuality

The actions of individuals, whether they are priests or heads of state, don't define the Word of God. A Muslim following their faith will look to the Quran for the truth, not to the leaders of Iran. The tenets of Islam are determined by a consistent message from God, not by the whims of men. Anyone who believes that most Muslims rise each day to see what the Iranian government has decreed to be "Islamic" that day is not using even atheist logic to support their argument.

Unfortunately that isn't the case. People generally do look to their religious leaders for interpretation and understanding of the word of god. That's what makes those religious leaders so dangerous.
