Hello Everyone

Well my fiance(e) will soon be having his interview at Cuidad Juarez, Mexico.

Know let me explain the problem, when I filed the I-12F I was a full-time student and I just graduated this MAY,so as you can see i don't have any income. For the interview as you might be aware we need to provide evidence of financial support.I read on the instructions that consulate does not require an Affidavit of Support but rather the Petitioners income tax forms and bank account statements among other documents, however I am not working right know, so i need my parents to co-sponsor me the (petitioner) and my fiance(e. SO MY QUESTIONS ARE

(1) Should I still fill out an Affidavit of Support?

(2) what do I need from my parents? Will I need their bank account statements etc..?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or if your case is similar to mine what did you do?

Thank you

earzate

Hello

Yes, you must complete the I-134 and one parent must fill out another I-134. I am not familiar with the requirements of Mexico, but practically the documents accompanying the Affidavit of Support are:

- the most recent IRS 1040 transcripts,plus W2

- employment letter

- bank statements

- recent pay stubs

As a recent graduate student, you could include a letter explaining that you were a student and therefore did not have to fill out IRS transcripts.

Each consulate has different requirements, I hope I've helped. Hopefully someone from Mexico could give you more information. Good luck.

You will need to fill out an I-134, and if you did not file taxes in 2010, include a statement that explains why you legally did not have to file. If you filed taxes, then include your tax transcript.

Just one of your parents will be the co-sponsor, so choose the one with enough income to cover their household size + your fiance at 125% of the poverty level or higher. They will also fill out an I-134. They need to include their most recent tax transcript, which you can get for free from the IRS, or a copy of their complete tax return including any W-2s and 1099s. They should include a letter from their employer stating their position and salary, and a few of their most recent pay stubs. They do not need bank statements unless they are going to list assets to make up for a shortcoming in their income. If they do not need to use assets, then they should leave all the asset questions blank and not worry about bank statements. They also need to provide proof of being a USC or LPR. If they are a USC, a copy of their birth certificate or copy of the bio pages from their passport works.
