Okay so i am in line for scheduling for the interview (& testing) since sept 1 2011. As for right now, i just checked it, it's still saying the same thing. so i think it takes kinda long, so i really don't wanna wait much. Can i just take an early test ? Somehow, they let me take the fingerprint early, it was like 2 weeks before the appointment lol. So i'm wondering if they will let me interview earlier.

thanks :)

Absolutely NOT. Sorry you have to wait till your interview. The test is part of the interview procedure

Absolutely not.

It's not just a test; it's the entire interview including both tests, and there are thousands of people waiting for their turn to take the interview. They USCIS will not push somebody else back in order to get you to cut in line. Also keep in mind that you may have to wait several months after the interview in order to get an appointment for the Oath, depending on where you live. Luckily, as a Green Card holder you have the same rights as a U.S. citizen except for voting in a federal election, and the next one is still 14 months away, so don't get too wound up about this.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

From what my wife and stepdaughter told me, both the civics and English test part of their interview only took about a minute. The really scrutinizing portion of their interviews was going over how they filled out their N-400. Would be more concerned about that.
