First, congratulations to everyone who has gotten an interview date!

Now, HELP!!! Our NOA2 is Aug 3rd, and since others from that timeframe are now getting dates, I called the Dept. of State to check. The visa specialist says that my fiancees address information in the computer was incomplete (missing the city). She said that no interview can be scheduled until the consulate receives her DS-230 which was supposed to be mailed to her in Packet 3!!!???!!! She gave me the e-mail add for the consulate and said that I need to send them her correct address information and request that they send Packet 3 ASAP.

I'm SO confused!!!! First of all, her full address is correct in the package we submitted. Second, I thought there was NO Packet 3 for K1, only Packet 4. Third, I had NO idea a DS-230 was required PRIOR to getting an interview appointment scheduled. Fourth, IF THIS IS TRUE, ALL OCT & NOV DATES ARE FULL -- I was not expecting to have to wait until Dec or Jan or Feb!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!!

So, can any of you add clarification? What's going on here?

Help,

Dave

A DS-230 does come in the packet 3 or can be downloaded from the consulate's website. It IS required prior to an interview date for a K1 process. Without sending in this form to the consulate an interview date CANNOT be scheduled.

Your fiance was supposed to receive her packet 3 containing instructions to schedule an interview date, what to send them now and what to collect for the interview. It appears they didn't have her full address so they haven't sent her a packet 3. What your fiance must do is download the required forms and snail mail them to the consulate, where they'll schedule her interview and send her a packet 4.

You should check with other members going through Manilla to know exactly what is required for packet 3 to send to the embassy.

No Manila members appear to have Packet 3 listed anywhere in their timelines, and I thought Manila only did Packet 4 for K1! Manila VJ'ers, if you are out there today, please post a reply and let me know what's going on.

Thanks!

Check Manilla embassy threads for info then, I thought that even though requirements are different for each embassy, that packet 3 and 4 were a common thing to all embassies.
