College Professor Allegedly Led Drug Ring, Motorcycle Gang

Authorities are searching for a teacher at Cal State San Bernardino, who allegedly was the leader of a drug ring and a motorcycle gang

A professor at Cal State San Bernardino is now a fugitive from the law.

For at least six years Steven Kinzey, 43, has worked as an associate professor of kinesiology at Cal State San Bernardino, investigators said. Authorities said they believe he was also the head of a methamphetamine ring and part of a motorcycle gang.

"The person who seemed to be leading this was Mr. Steven Kinzey, a member of the Devils Disciples motorcycle gang, and from our investigation he appears to be the president of the Mountain chapter," said detective Jason Rosenbaum, of the San Bernadino Sheriffs Department. "It also came to light he was a university professor."

Authorities raided Kinzey’s home and recovered a pound of methamphetamine and rifles, handguns and biker paraphernalia. A dozen people were arrested during the raid, including Holly Robinson, Kinzey's girlfriend....etc, etc....

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Wow, seriously? You dont' see the broader picture here? Just another reason to bash California. No kid left behind is at least a motivating factor in a lot of these cases as it focuses almost exclusively on a standardized test. So you have teachers focusing on teaching for that test, and in this case, cheating to do it. These people should be held accountable and NEVER teach in any capacity again. But to think that this is somehow indicative of education in California is simply ignorant.

You are right these folks neeed to be hung out for this.

The standardized tests aren't the problem, the ease at cheating is.

If you throw the standardized test out you get instant score improvements as each local can write their own test.

This california incident is nothing compared to the one in the Atlanta area, they had I believe not only over 80 administrators involved... but a number of principals.

It's 2011, why are these tests still being done with No.2 pencils?

Danno, No Child Left Behind is a joke. It only incentivizes teachers to instruct their kids to do well on a series of standardized tests. I think a broad base of knowledge should be the goal. Fact is, if we want to keep up with the rest of the world, kids are going to have to go to school for longer, and more days per year.

They teach the test when they instruct military personal, just like industry does when instructing their work force. Somehow the military and industry spend less time on education to produce competent individuals that manage to play with more expensive toys. Perhaps if we got rid of all those warm fuzzies, and stopped coddling the kids, they might actually learn something useful for later life. Put them all in military school. I bet they don't teach drill and ceremonies anymore in US schools like they still do in most of the world.

Somewhere along the line the idea that learning should be "fun" happened.

This was the beginning of -Education malpractice.
