beneficiary/petitioner both at interview?

So me and my fiance are almost 2 months in after getting our NOA1 hardcopy. Recently ive been thinking about the interview alot (even though its far away) and someone told me that the beneficiary and the petioner BOTH have to be at the interview. I was told that the beneficiary has an intervew in the room with the interviewer alone and then the petitioner has an interview or will be asked questions by the same interviewer while the beneficiary is waiting in another room. the reason for this is to compare answers from the beneficiary and petitioner to make sure its not a sham marriage.

is this true?! this seems very dumb to me but i had 2 people tell me this.

as far as i know, me being the beneficiary, I thought I only had to go to the interview..

what you are talking about is a stokes interview. This only happens if they already think you are having a fraud relationship.

Only the beneficiary has an interivew, the USC can come but usually is not allowed into the room with the beneficiary.

The only other reason the USC would need to attend the interview is if you live in a specific country, come countrys if the USC is there for the interview it gives a MUCH MUCH higher chance of approval for the visa.

No, the petitioner is not interviewed separately and no, its not required that the petitioner attend the interview. It is always a good to attend if you can. Depending on what consulate you are going through, it could greatly help your chances if both attend the interview.

my interview will be at the vancouver consulate here in Canada, B.C

i dont know if my fiance should come or not...or if it would help..

its not required that the petitioner attend the interview. It is always a good to attend if you can.

Perhaps not formally required, but it's a de facto requirement in some consulates that the U.S. petitioner be "on the premises."

Im not sure but i dont think for Canada its necessary, but if you guys can afford it, its probably worth doing..

Not needed at all, people in Canada interview alone all the time and get their visa.

I interviewed alone and was approved. They didn't even ask me where he was or why he didn't come.
