My case closed on july 20. Does anyone know how much longer i should expect to wait for an interview date for the embassy in cairo?

I know that there is a backlog but i do not know how bad it is.

Unfortunately, the backlog at Cairo is severe. Think it's about 6 months from case complete to interview date. You've still got quite a few months ahead of you unfortunately. I suggest you look at this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/315664-nvc-cairo-embassy-ir-1cr-1/

Well, Ive looked at the interviews for Oct and their cases closed in April. I hope they will clear up some of the backlog but at this rate you might not have the interview for a few more months. I pray this will not be the case and you will get good news soon. Sorry, I know this is not the kind of news anyone wants to hear when they are waiting for interviews.....best of luck.

I just spoke with Department of State follwed by NVC and still no luck. Not sure why there is so much delay scheduling interview.

OUR CASE CLOSED AND COMPLETED AT THE NVC ON 6/1/2011

THE ONE WHO COMPLETED THEIR CASE ON APRIL JUST RECEIVING THE INTERVIEW DATE THIS MONTH FOR OCTOBER

SO I THINK WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2 OR 3 MONTHS CAUSE THE NEXT MONTH THE ONE WHO COMPLETED THEIR CASE ON JUNE WILL HAVE THEIR INTERVIEW DATE ON OCTOBER FOR NOVEMBER , AND WE WILL RECEIVE OURS ON NOVEMBER FOR DECEMBER , I THINK .

thank you. thats kinda what i figured cause i know they were catching up on their backlog. i just didn't know how caught up they were or anything

I hope the embassy is done doing the DV lottery interviews for a few months so Egypt can get interviews in 3 months again. This waiting 6 months is torture.
