I have a few questions about the police certificate from Colombia. My wife and I are hoping to soon have our case transferred to the visa center. They will need the police certificate. The local DAS office was unable to provide one. At first they said they could be obtained in Bogota. Later they said they could only be found online. My wife has the online copy, but our Atty is telling us that we need to get the 'original', that is the paper copy. Can someone supply the answer-do we need the copy from Bogota or will the online document do? My wife lives in Barrancabermeja and it would be much easier not to go to Bogota. Thanks.

the online it's all you need...don't believe everything that you are told. the online police certificate is valid. everyone is taking it and they accept it. so, don't worry you are done with that. Your lawyer is wrong in that matter. :D

My wife was able to obtain one from the local DAS office. The person at the office got online to the same page available to the public, printed it out, and handed it to her. I was a bit worried as well but NVC had no problem with it.. here is what it looked like:

There was also a second document called a "Certificate of good conduct" - I'm not sure this was needed, I sent it along with the above page as I was unsure so I sent them both and let NVC decide what they wanted..
