Skype and Yahoo Chats for K-1 Interview

I know Yahoo chat has a message archive, but when I export the message and open it, it just has the text of the message and not the dates. Skype doesn't even have a message archive. What's the best way to present the chat messages for the interview? Should I just do a screen print of the message archive list? Then it has the dates of the chat and the time.

When I video skype, it keeps a log of every call and the duration and anything we type to each other during the call. If I double click on Dipu to call him when he's not logged in, it sends me to a screen that has an option to show messages, you can show from the beginning. This will have a log of every call placed between you. I took screen prints and pasted them into word to print them.

For Skype, there's two programs you can use to get the logs of calls and chats.

Look at post number 3 and 8 in this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/327553-skype-chat-logs/ The first one (in 3) will give you a log of all the calls you've made. The second one (in 8) will give you a log of all the chats you've ever had.

I ended up not using any of those programs people have made. They don't work. I just pulled up the date list of conversations, highlighted some dates, and scrolled to a part of the conversation that I thought was good to take to the interview and did a screen print of it. They didn't even look at them anyway :D

Install gmail on your phone, and gchat, and option to save each chat. I have over 350 chats archived' when my fiancee has her interview, I will print them

off and send them to her..

its much more efficient then Skype

I agree Gmail chat is so much better than skype and you can video call each other on gmail chat too. =)

If you don't have message archive on Skype it means you don't turn on the setting. Check on tools -->option-->privacy and set the IMs to keep history forever. I started doing that for more than 3 years by now. I hope it helps.

I checked Yahoo Messenger and it does have dates. I'm using the latest client. You have to use the client and not the latest Yahoo Mail. You can save any "Conversation" or print them. If you want to retain a little formatting you can print to PDF if you have Acrobat Pro or print to Microsoft XPS.

I you dont have the latest client, download and install. Take the option to convert your archuve messages. Hope this helps.
