we are from sikh religion. my husband don't have any granted visa before.

we have arranged marriage.

maybe there is problem for education. because my husband he is really good educate and i am not.

Hmmm...it could be. It could also be his line of work or his field of education that could have thrown a flag up.

There was a past issue with a woman here from India that went into A.P. that had education of Chemical Abstracts and Pharmacology (Pharmacy).

The interview is over and my husband was approved but they needed a new joint sponsor because they decided my current joint sponsor didn't meet the requirements. They sent him home and told him he just needs to send in the new info and his passport by courier. I'm a little dissapointed because we were so confident and prepared and he was hoping to be home next weekend. But, the new joint sponsor papers are sent off (overnight) and the courier is picking them up from his house tomorrow. I just have to sit here and pray that this extra unexpected step goes by very very quickly. I want my husband!! :crying:

Yes I am a student and therefore make nothing even close to the poverty line! lol I knew from the get-go that I would need a joint sponsor and I thought my moms income + assets would be fine and so did the NVC. We were so wrong. The papers got sent out today so hopefully everything will be over soon. Thank you.

No matter what NVC approves on the I-864, it is the consulate/embassy that makes the final approval.

Hi guys,

you all might have gone through this.

we are planning to send i 864 packet on monday.

1. Do we need to write NVC case number on the top of I 864 form and all tax transcrit copies.

2. Also along with I 864 form, we are submitting (a)Tax transcript for 2010(latest), (b)employment letter, ©Bank statement. Hope this three are enough. pls give ur thoughts.

3. We are sending only copies of above mentioned documents. is that enough?

1. You don't have to write your NVC case number on anything unless of course you want to. NVC couldn't care less. But I did it because it assured me that if a person working at NVC that was carrying my case suddenly collided with another person carrying someone else's case and all the papers went everywhere, they would know which papers are mine because they all had my case number on the top right hand corner. And of course there are other reasons but NVC could care diddly squat.

2. What about sending out your past 6 months worth of paystubs? Will you be sending 2008 and 2009 transcripts? They aren't necessary but sometimes help out.

3. Are you asking whether COPIES are enough or if the actual documents are enough? Send I-864 original (of course because of the signature(s)) and the rest could be copies. It looks good to me

I hope your papers get there quickly! If you were approved "conditionally" then you should be happy! All you have to do is get the paperwork to them and your husband will have his visa. It seems like forever, but this will all be over before you know it!

Hi all,

there is a friend of mine who had his interview at the american embassy in Cairo on Nov 22 2011 and he got married on June 28 2009 in Egypt and his wife left on July 14 2009 and did not visit him since she left but they kept contacting each other by e mails, letters and phone and his wife was married before and at the time of the interview the consular officer told him that she is not convinced that their marriage will be permenant

and asked him to send proof of relationship and he sent her these things ( pictures , letters , e mails ) by DHL and my questions are are these things enough to prove the relationship?? does the consular officer have right to deny the visa ( IR 1 ) despite the fact that it was approved by NVC?? and all the documents needed were submitted and his wife submitted the affidavit of support and changed her name and got his family name??if the visa is denied what things must be done??

plz guys answer my questions as my friend is in a very bad mood as he was hit by the last retrogression and I do not have any idea about that matter.

so many thanks

Well, the embassy can do whatever they feel like. If they do not believe a relationship is genuine they can deny the application. At this point, it would go back to the Service Center and then they can either reaffirm the application or send a letter for intent to cancel application (I'm sure there is better terminology). Your friend then has a limited time to send a request to the Service Center (I believe you still have to pay the fees over again). If your friend doesn't do anything, the application will be void and they'll need to start all over. Please someone correct me if I am wrong as I have never had to go through this myself.

Your friend needs to take every single piece of evidence they have of their relationship. Beneficiary listed as beneficiary of life insurance, pictures, every e-mail, every chat record, pictures galore, bank statements showing both of their names on there, gifts from each other, letters, basically anything that can change the CO's mind. Every shred of evidence counts in this instance.

Is there any reason why your friend never visited his wife since they got married? I can see how that is a big red flag. How long did they know each other before they got married?

I hope this helps. I'm sure others will chime in as well.
