Back from my wonderful vacation: 06-22-2011

Pay I-864 Bill: 06-27-2011

Return Completed I-864 : 07-01-2011

Return Completed DS-3032: 07-01-2011

Pay IV Bill: 07-14-2011

Case Completed at NVC: 07-20-2011

Consulate Received: 08-02-2011

Medical Exam Done: 09-15-2011

Interview Date: 09-29-2011 (APPROVED!!)

Visa in Hand: 10-11-2011

POE: 10-20-2011 (Boston)

Does anyone know, if you can pay for the fee's at the consultorio de visa and the ambassy in santo domingo with a credit card.

Cash only. Dominican pesos or American dollars.

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Jaz, Despues que te aprovaron la cita , a los 8 dias pudiste recojer las visa? entonces no tengo que esperar 2 semanas o , que ellos la manden? por que me encantaria cuando aprueben la mia venir con mi novia , no dejarla que venga sola pero tengo miedo a que eso duro mas de 2 semanas , y tu sabes los comprimisos de trabajos

Ricky, todos los casos son diferentes. Te sugiero que no cuentes con que la visa estara lista en menos de dos semanas. Tal vez si, pero tal vez no. Hay muchas gentes que los estan poniendo en AP (administrative processing) y esta cojiendo par de semanas/meses para que le entreguen la visa. Don't buy her ticket until you have the visa in hand. A lot of people make this mistake and then it bites them in the ####. I understand you want to come back with her, but duty calls and if you have to leave without her, she will eventually follow right behind you.

02/07/2012 - Payed AOS fee
02/08/2012 - AOS fee status shown as PAID
02/09/ 2012 - DS-230 package sent to NVC (priority mail)
03/06/2012 - AOS package sent to NVC (priority mail)
03/12/2012 - Called NVC and found out about checklist. Sent revision to NVC that same day.
03/16/2012 - CASE COMPLETE!
04/11/2012 - Informed of interview via phone by DOS/ Got P4 email from NVC a few hours later that same day (May 4th)

05/04/2012 - Interview (APPROVED)
05/10/2012 - Visa ready and picked up at domex
05/15/2012 - POE in Boston (together)

05/29/2012 - Went to SS office to apply for SS card
06/01/2012 - Welcome letter arrived (Received about 3 of these)
06/05/2012 - Green card arrived
06/15/2012- Back to SS office with green card to reapply and inquire about delay
06/18/2012 - Picked up SSN at SSA office
06/22/2012 - SS card arrived by mail

04/24/14 - Sent I-751 to remove conditions

06/09/14 - Biometrics

11/2014 - RFE from USCIS requesting more evidence before approval

Late Jan - Sent further evidence of marriage

03/05/2015 - Got letter of approval for removal of conditions

03/15/2015 - Permanent 10 yr green card received via mail
