We had a similar situation.

A friend of hers started the Visa process a month after her and received the visa a few weeks ago. However this was a visa to Germany. Her friend also used a lawyer. (We are not)

Naturally this brought out all of the "expert" advice and gossip yap yap. :secret:

The bottom line is things are moving along at a modest pace and optimistically on schedule with our plans. Of course this still difficult to wait. It seems like the wait from NOA2 to interview is the hardest.Especially after sending in packet 3 and waiting over 2 months.

We just try to stay positive and not pay too much attention the naysayers.

Best of luck!

And those are all very efficient and run smoothly and quickly with no wasted money, right?

I'll let you decide...

Medicare's overhead is 7%.

The typical private health insurance company has an overhead of 20-35%.

The VA uses their buying power with Big Pharma to get up to 40% off.

You pay full retail for your drugs.

You pay for the multi-million dollar salaries, benefits, and bonuses for your private health insurance execs.

Not even the President of the U.S. makes that kind of money..

Any questions?

Health insurance is why our medical needs cost so much! The Bible talks about a man giving anything and everything he has for his life, and that is just about where it is, and there are people are are glad to take unfair advantage of other people. I had 3 medical visits over a period of 3 months. I was in the doctor's office for very short periods of time, except for the prostate biopsy, and I went into shock, so my blood pressure plummeted to 60 over 40 with the pulse at 42, and it stayed there for 2 hours. For those 3 visits it cost about $3500.00, and Medicare paid all but $622.00, which I had to pay, but U.S. Bank is financing it for zero percent interest at $30.00/month, or it would be 1 % of the total with ever would be the greatest, which is a great deal. But medical insurance is a rip off, but I am thankful at this point for Medicare!!!! You can't afford medical insurance, and you can't afford to be without it, although we were for many years.

It does sound like a similar situation. Yes it seems like everyone is an expert. These country side people are an interesting bunch.

It does seem like the wait after the NOA2 is the worst. From what I assumed before the wait for the NOA2 would be the longest part. But it looks like this process with the state department will take longer.

I had hoped to have her here in September. The state fair is in September. I wanted to take her to that. My birthday is in September. I had hoped she would have been here for that. Last year on my birthday we bought some little cakes at the Paragon mall in BKK and ate them in our room. Just the two of us. Best birthday party I ever had. I told myself then that I wanted to make her a huge chocolate cake next year. I think we will be eating that cake sometime in October. I hope she is here by Halloween. October is pumpkin season. We both like to cook with pumpkins.
