Hi,

I was wondering what material my fiancee will need at the interview in Rio for a K-1 fiancee visa, I heard something about packets 3 & 4 ?????

You can download packet 3 from the consulate website. It is the application package, forms and instructions for the visa application. Packet 4 is a confirmation letter once your interview appointment is set.

Some consuates require you fill out the forms, attach evidence of realtionship, affidavit of support etc and return all to the consulate. The consulate then sets an appointment. Others simply tell you to make an appointment and bring everything with you. Check with how the consulate does it. The instructions should be at their website.

This is correct information. Rio does not send out packets anymore. Rather, they send you this link and tell you to follow it.

Link to Rio Consulate with instructions and forms.

The first link on that page has all of the instructions. Take the time to read it completely and also go through all of the other links and look at what is needed and the instructions for each of the forms.

Boa Sorte

P.S. Rio sets the interview date once they receive the package from NVC. No paperwork is sent to Rio prior to the onterview. You fill out a few forms online and the rest of the forms are taken with you to the interview.

Also, here is a list of documents/requirements needed at Rio. This is directly from the sheet they hand to you at the interview. Also, this is the order they want the forms in.

Of course you need your bona fide relationship evidence.

1. Contact information in Rio de Janeiro. (if you are staying and waiting for Visa to come back in Rio de Janeiro, if not don't worry about this)

2. 2 Front view Photo (passport style, name printed in ink on back) )5X5cm and make sure ears are showing!!!!!!!!

3. Passport

4. Citibank Fee (make sure you take your passport to Citibank when paying fee so they put your passport # on the receipt)

5. DS-230 (signed)

6. 2 Electronically filled DS-156 Forms (signed)

7. DS-156K

8. DS-157

9. Sworn Statement (beneficiary's only not signed)

10. Birth Certificate and certified copy (copia autenticada)

11. Marriage Certificate and copy if applicable

12. Divorce Decree and copy if applicable

13. Death Certificate and copy if applicable

14. Police Certificate and copy (Secretaria de Seguranca)

15. Police Certificate and copy (Policia Federal)

16. Police Certificate from other countries and copy if applicable

17. Medical Exam (sealed)

18. Affidavit of Support Form I-134, Last Federal income tax, Proof of citizenship or green card. (Copies of all pages of your passport should do, I was there for interview)

19. Complete Court Records and copy if applicable

20. USCIS/DHS Processings/Records (e.g. deportation, voluntarily removal, change of visa category etc....

Hope this helps
