Hi everyone!! I usually read others stories and comments and I find this site to be really helpful, so I decided to sign up and share my story hopefully I can get some help.

We are in September and no communication from the embassy, no packet 4, which means he doesn't have an interview date and he's unable to do his medical. I have one month and a week and a half before NOA2 expire. Should I be worried?

2/2/11 NOA1 (received)

6/17/11 NOA2 Approved

6/22/11 received hard copy of NOA2, which is valid 6/17-10/17/11

8/4/11 He received Packet 3 at the Post Office(no call or communication from the embassy)

8/5/11 He emailed packet 3

8/8/11 brought in a copy of form DS 3032 and was told that they will contact him and we are still waiting

Most probably the embassy extends the expiration date even if the date at the NOA2 is over. However you might need to communicate with the embassy. They might have a date set up already.

Good luck

4clife, have you or your fiance tried to contact the consulate about this? They should be able to check your case status and tell you an approximate date for your/his interview. Usually they extend the NOA2 in case they cannot complete the case in time if they're really backed up. I don't know how backed up Jamaican consulates are at this moment... do call them and see if you can find out some more information. For me, I had to call repeatedly because they wouldn't send P3 or P4 - it took forever to get my interview date! Stay strong!

He called them and either he cannot get through to them and when he did get through they said they can't discuss nothing over the phone. He went to the embassy and he said the person who collects the forms told him that they will call him.

It's really annoying, especially when the embassy has poor communication with its customers, you don't know what's going on.

I can understand your nervous feelings. I would as suggested above contact the embassy about the date. I am not familiar with the Consulate there but I can say that with Turkey they are very backed up. My NOA2 expiration date was october 6th and our interview is set on October 27th . I had same worry about extensions. And everyone is correct in fact the embassy will extend your date. definitely call when they are open first thing....i think you have a date but it hasnt been communicated...Good Luck!

Thank you for your help, b/c I thought once that date had pass that was it. Thank God I don't have to worry about that part and I'll be able to sleep peacefully.

In life there are so many hurdles to jump. You just have to try to be patient and know that everything happens in it's time.

In an abundance of caution, I would either email them the request for extension of the approval, I would even go as far as sending them the request via certified mail too. Just a CYA!!

Your I-129 was approved on 6/17/2011?

NOA2's usually expire after 180 days/6 months.

Yours should be valid until 12/17/2011.

I think this is incorrect. The NOA2 will expire in 4 months and not 6 months. An extention is grated upon the Consulate Approval but requires communication for a extention. Anyone who has a NOA2 in their possesion and looking at the dates can verify this.

I agree with Blessed04 email the embassy. If they don't reply after a few days then email again and let them know in the subject line this is your 2nd or 3rd request.

You sent in the DS 230? I know before they were mailing out packet 3 and 4 and many people weren't getting them. This happened to my husband 2 years ago when we were going through the K-1 process. I had to email the embassy and explain that he never received those packets in the mail and could they please email me them. The replied pretty quickly. Good luck! Just keep on them, but emailing is the way to go
