September 2011 -I 130 Filers

Are there any September filers still waiting on the NOA2. I feel like I'm the only one left... Going on 7 and a half months. I put in a service request too and still no word.

I hear you - I'm waiting too. Put in a service request last Thursday and they said I should hear something from them by May 11th. I haven't heard anything yet, and I'm becoming very discouraged and upset. I've had co-workers tell me to go to my congressman, but I was waiting until the 11th. This has gone on over 234 days and it's been so frustrating. Now I'm thinking my husband won't even get to come in until early fall. Why do some files get left behind? I don't get it. It feels like this process will never end. :(

Our receipt date is Oct.7, still waiting. and the answer from the service request is within 45 days there would be something from them. I don't know why our case has to wait so long time, even December cases got approved. I have the same feeling that this process will never end.

Don't worry you are not alone I am a september filer and I am still awaiting my approval. Yes it hurts and I cannot understand how some filers get through quicker than others. It took them 6 months to realise that they needed to send us a RFE and now it seem like its going to take them another 6 months to approve out I-130.

Hey Sept filers!

My priority date is September 9th, 2011. I've been constantly inquiring as to why this process is taking so long. I received an email on Monday stating that it's going to be another 30 days until I receive an NOA2... It'll be 9 months at that point. Needless to say, Obama (or whoever will be in the Oval Office) will be getting a nice letter in the mail when this whole process is over.

I think 9 months for them to decide is utterly rediculous. I dont know whats the problem there honestly. No matter what you ask them its always some lame excuse. Now tell me what is 9 months? better they say it up front so you would not be wishing and hoping to see an approval after 5 month mark. Ant this ####### where others get theirs approved in a matter of 3 and 4 months what the hell is that all about. Is it that some people work harder than others in that California service center? I dont know what to say any more. To me its a whole lot of bull #######. No wonder why some people just go there on a visa marry and stay to adjust. i just did not want to do that. i prefer to choose the right path. Now its like shooting myself in the blasted foot.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally got somewhere! After almost two weeks of calling in a service request, I got an email saying that my file was being ajudicated. Then yesterday I was surprised to find that the NVC had sent me a letter with my case number. Guess they sent it from the USCIS pretty fast, but no updates online to my account or on my receipt number, so I had no idea it was going to be at NVC so soon. Glad that I have most of my files ready so that I can PDF them as soon as possible. This process has been so up and down though...

Do you have a criminal record?

sometimes this will cause a delay.
