I thought I would be done waiting once I got my NOA2. It has been 3 weeks since and still nothing has happened. It hasn't even arrived at NVC yet. So don't be disheartened by the wait and probably by the time you get to NVC things will be running quicker again there and you don't have to go through the waits people are experiencing waiting for new fees to come in to effect, changes in the invoicing system and all that and you should have a quicker time. So stay positive.

I have a question about the I-130. I am from the US and my wife is from Vietnam. I submitted the application in Aug. 2011 and it was received by Sept. 1, 2011.

My status has been on initial review the whole time until March 22, 2012 I got 2 email with the DS-1200. In that email was a pdf file with an invoice asking me to pay the AOS fee of $88. and it had a DS-3032 form in the pdf. My wife is in Vietnam. I forwarded the email to her and had to sign the DS-3032 form and send it to the address stated in the pdf. I also paid the fee of $88 already. It's been about 2 1/2 weeks since my wife mailed the form to the NVC. My status is still showing initial review.

How long does it usually take for the status to update? Also was my wife sending the form ok or was I suppose to send it? Can someone also tell me what is the next step in this process?

Thanks

Hello all,

I was contacted by my Congresswoman's counsel personally by telephone.

She stated she wanted to the first to give me the good news.

She then told me my wife's I-130 Petition was approved today, 04/13/2012.

She also sent me this email:

Good news from USCIS!

Hi Rodrique,

The I130 petitions have been approved today 4/13/12. The approval notices will be mailed to the petitioner’s

address of record and the petitions will be forwarded to the National Visa Center for processing.

Please let me know if we can assist any further.

Best wishes to you and your family,

CAROL ARMSTRONG | DISTRICT COUNSEL

Congresswoman Renee Ellmers (NC-2)

910-230-1910 (telephone) | 910-230-1940 (telefax)

406 W. Broad Street | Dunn NC 28334

carol.armstrong@mail.house.gov | www.ellmers.house.gov

I tried to verify this info with USCIS and they were still stating that my status was still RFE Resonse Review.

The website shows the same and I have received no text message or email as of yet.

Has their system not been updated yet.......?

How long before I get an email or text message confirmation.......?

Where did she get this information from as a Tier 2 supervisor did not see my approval.

She did send an email to USCIS on 04/12/2012 on my behalf, but I am very cautious and nervous.

What does anyone here make of this.......?

Please give me your thoughts as I am a September filer and have been waiting 7 months for this.

MCML I WISH YOU ARE DOING GOOD .I WAS FOLLOWING YOUR TIMELINE SINCE THE BEGUINING BECAUSE WE HAVE

ALMOST THE SAME PRIORITY DATE ...MY NOA 02 IS ON 02 APRIL , I WAS LOOKING TO HEAR ABOUT MY CASE NUMBER

BUT IN VAIN, IT IS ACTUALLY VERY HARD TO REACH NVC , ALWAYS BUSY ...

AFTER MANY TRIALS , I GOT THE OPERATOR WHO ASKED ME TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK ....AND CALL BACK 23/04.

I DONT UNDERSTAND , THROUGH VISA JOURNEY I NOTICED THAT PEOPLE FILE REACH NVC IN LESS THAN ONE WEEK

AND CASE NUMBER IS ASSIGNED AFTER 02 WEEKS .

I SAW THAT YOU ARE ALSO SUFFERING ABOUT IT ...PLEASE LET ME KNOW ONCE YOU GOT A CONFIRMATION OF RECEIPT .

WSH YOU GOOD LUCK ...

hnewsome...

Click on "Settings" on the top right hand side of the page, then click on Profile, then click on Change Signature.. Then you just need to type in your own timeline.

Hope this helps! :)

I see these posts are pretty old now. How did you both come out, how long did it take overall?? I am trying to decide whether to use the 129f or the 130. The only reason we want to use the 130 is to be able to get married in the Philippines w her family present. It would be ??? how long before we get back there, and we wanted to share it with them all. Same with family in USA, they can't all travel to Philippines. So we want to just use the I-130.

Also, I saw as of Jan.1, 2012 my paperwork would go through Phoenix, AZ. instead of Cal or chicago. Maybe quicker now??

Well I still have nothing. So I am still waiting. Just like everyone else.

The wait will continue until she is here. There is no avoiding that.

Still haven't heard anything on my NOA2. :( I called earlier in the week and was told they were still working on September 10th, which can't be right. I was told that three weeks ago... I think they just haven't updated their system.

Any other September filers that still haven't gotten theirs? I think I'm in the minority now... And now a slow down of files going to NVC... the wait never ends.

Hi everyone... I'm creating this thread for those of us who have submitted our I-130 application packets this month. I sent ours out this morning (9/3/11). Let's hold eachother's hands through this process and I encourage those who submit their I130s this month to post here so we know who eachother are.

Good luck!!!
