Congratulations to all those who got their approvals! I am really happy for you guys.

I am still waiting. However I don't know what good it will do now. Things haven't been going well with me and my wife. We might probably be heading towards divorce.

Sorry to hear that. One thing I have learned from my marriage is that the first few months are really hard(and harder if you are apart) because this is the setting phase. My husband and I lived together for the first 10 months and we used to fight a looot. There were so many times we thought about a divorce too - but if you hang in there and know that you got to work at it, you will have a good marriage. Don't take any haste decisions and regret it later. Maybe you should try to live together for a few months now and then come to that conclusion...

This is just my two cents - sorry if I am rude. But I know how it hurts when you part from your loved one, that's why I am telling you this. Don't get into that situation, but please handle this with patience and everything will definitely pan out - TRUST ME...

I understand what you are saying, and I really wanted to wait till living together to at least try and work things out. However my wife just refuses to make things work. She refuses to resolve any issues and just wantsto do whatever she wants. She doesn't leave me any room at all. I have been going through this situation since January and she just refuses to interact properly or even simply acknowledge anything I have to say. She says that once she is here she will be different but frankly she has changed as a person and I don't like the person she has become. If someone won't take marriage seriously, what am I supposed to do?

I am still trying to be patient but this isn't just something that has come up now, it has been on-going for months and I just don't like her attitude towards everything.

I am really sorry to hear what you are saying. Please don't feel bad that I am asking this about your wife, but did she by chance marry you for the GC? We keep hearing so many stories about this, so thought I will ask you this. Again, sorry for this. Since you are telling that she has changed a lot, could this be a reason?

No it was never about the GC. She couldn't care less about it. She has been so disinterested in this whole process. I have no reason to suspect fraud.

I'm really sorry to hear this MCM. You're right about her not changing once she gets here though. I don't believe people suddenly change for the better. It will probably only get worse. I hope you work things out for yourself.

first of all, i'm very happy to see this thread where we can support each other :) my NOA1 is September 29, 2011.

1) what phone number are you calling for the USCIS to speak with a person? i've tried the 1-800-375-5283 number and i could only get voice recorded messages about the status of my I-130.

2) what is the website where you can see the last dates being processed? i know of this one - https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

it used to state the last date being processed but now it only says "5 months". i am passed the 5 months.

3) what worries me about calling is getting someone rude on the phone. what are they so rude about? i ask because i just want to avoid any specific questions that might trigger such reaction by them.

and much, much congrats to all who have been approved :)

no, the point it customer service there not supposed to be rude, they are just tired of people calling getting updates, and they do not want to repeat themselves. i work as an insurance agent, i get annoyed but i never relay it through the phone... they must not pay them too well

MCMLXXXII, I am sorry to hear about what you are going through at this time; but please from a woman's stand point, I suggest you just turn a deaf ear during this period of processing.

I piss my husband off many times and I appreciate it when he does not take it out on me directly- I am not stupid, I am human like him and I know when I am unreasonable. So his walking away or just saying "we are not talking about this with you in this mood" does the trick. So that is my gentle reminder to retrace my step and change my attitude.

Sometimes you have to make your partner know when they are out of line and you cannot tolerate it-trust me that is a wakeup call. Let her know how you feel and this weight of wait has to be shouldered by both of you.

The visa JOURNEY is a though one and i will not even wish this distance and wait on anyone, but we have to go through it.

The key word here is endurance. Look and remember what always attracted you to her.

Goodluck, and I hope all goes well with both of you. Say a short prayer- all is well.

Thank you for your advice. It is good to get a woman's perspective. I am just trying to wait and see how it goes (I guess it is just like USCIS, wait and see, I am used to that now). However what I find so annoying is her total lack of input, she doesn't put anything in our marriage at all, she still lives like she is single. Her firends are more important to her than me. She has changed as a person and I don't like what she has become, she only does what she wants to without any regards to how I feel. She says, I understand but I will still do what I want. She feels that unless we are living together she is entitled to live her life how she wants to. We go buy many days without communicating. I am just tired of her whole attitude towards this.

And yes, still no NOA2.

First of all, it sux that this NOA2 is taking this long. There are so many people who are getting approvals with NOA1 dates in Oct, lucky them, but wish we knew when we would get ours too..

Also, again from a woman's perspective, when I got married, I was so scared that I will lose my spinster hood and used to fight back saying mean things. I was just very anxious about the changes that would bring about with the marriage. Maybe your wife is going through the same. Once she starts enjoying the marriage, other things will become minor..
