So I was looking at the proof for a bonafide marriage and noticed that a joint lease or joint mortgage are two of the supporting documents of a bonafide marriage. However, my wife visits me on her B1/B2 tourist visa and I thought she was specifically prohibited from entering into a lease or mortgage.

Are these two of the supporting documents of a bonafide marriage that we will not be able to supply?

don't know where you have read where it is specifically prohibited... foreigners (including those that entered only on a tourist visa) rent and purchase property in the US all the time.

in the end, can't supply what you don't have...

YMMV

If you are filing CR1 you do not need joint mortgage or lease, it normally applied for ppl who are filing from Fiance (K1) or in case where the spouse has been here for while and they never did AOS and are filing for AOS now.

In your case if you dont have joint mortgage or lease don't even worry about it.
