Hi,

My wife received her GC in November of 2009. Her renewal is coming up for November and we were getting ready to file. I have a slight complication. My spouse and I are currently overseas. I just wanted to know is it mandatory to be in USA to file this document or can I send I-751 package while overseas and come in time for the biometrics?

Any assistance on this will really help me out!

Thanks all!

Military orders?

On vacation?

If your on vacation then file it and come back for biometrics and interview if you have one etc. Military orders overseas? call the hotline and find out where you can get the finger print card from and mail it as a military package.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

No, it is not mandatory, as long as you have all your supporting documents to send in with your I-751 application. Btw send it via a tracking method, you don't want to risk it being lost or undelivered. You just have to be back here for your biometrics appointment. Also don't stay out of the country past your conditional greencards expiration date without the extention letter you get after filing the I-751. goodluck.
