employment and residence history question

Hello all, I have a question about filling out the G325a. As for employment history, I've only had two 'real jobs' in the last five years. I work construction and many of my jobs have paid under the table. I've also done alot of side work where I got paid cash. I don't know if I should try and list these jobs (I'd have a very difficult time remembering the dates) or just say I was umemployed or self employed or what. Also as for my residences the last five years, I've lived in a few different apartments for a few months here and there but I don't remember the dates. I did recieve bills at these locations but have always used my parents house as my permanent address. Do they check on this information? Will a sketchy employment history or long periods of time unemployed affect the visa process. Thanks for any advice you guys can give me.

Hi Brian,

I hope you get an answer about the employment soon because I really have no idea about under the table work and don't want to advise you on doing something that may go against your petition.

As for the residency, I would try to jog your memory about those dates if I were you. USCIS specifically does ask for your residence from the last 5 years on the G-325A and not providing accurate information could delay your petition if they end up sending you a Request for more Evidence (RFE). I know that they want your physical address during those dates and not the address you have listed as your permanent residence. I personally have moved around frequently in the past 5 years due to me being a college student and taking on a variety of seasonal/temporary jobs that were all over the country. I didn't have enough room to provide all of my residency information on the G-325A so I made a table in a word document and listed all of my other addresses on that. Don't forget to sign and date that supplement as well! Do the same for your fiancee is she has had multiple addresses.

Good luck! I hope you find an answer to the employment question soon.

I am the petitioner.
