I'm not sure what application you are talking about, but if you entered the US on a student visa you have the SEVIS fees paid - or you wouldn't get the visa. That being said - if you apply for AOS you do not need to send in proof that you have paid the SEVIS fees. IF applying for AOS you need you I-94 and send a copy of the page in your passport with the visa. That's all in regards to your student status.
