Here is the response to my service request my priority date is October 12, 2010, case at VSC

The status of this service request is:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) acknowledges the fact that your case is still pending processing and is currently beyond our normal processing times as reported on the website. Unfortunately, there are no Visas available for your relative's preference category at this time. Our office processes these cases as our resources and priorities allow. We closely monitor visa availability to ensure no undue delay occurs.

Don't worry about how long it takes to get approved, your PD is still far from current, it is just as they told you, they will make sure to get it done before your PD is current, that's what matters. They took 605 days to approve mine.

OMG 9 months...

Mine took just 4 months for approval..

I applied in March 2011 and it was approved by July 2011.

The max approval times for I-130 for F2A is 5 months as per their website..Check if there are any RFE's for ur case..

Elkhris, is correct. I-130 approval doesn't make much difference. NVC assigns case number once they receive from USCIS and then IV process starts. Only point is, If your I-130 is completed in 4 or 5 months, You can complete all your document work with NVC and case will be completed. Thats only the relief, I am seeing. Apart from that nothing. As per my attorney, if your PD date is current and your I-130 application is 90 days old they suppose to take a decision. Bottom line, dont worry just wait. Meanwhile, prepare all your documentation to apply for 230/864 .. Etc
